  • A little weird to setup

Maybe I’m just unexperienced working with the air Springs or whatever, but everything works great now that it’s up.

Great bang fo the buck. I have a similar startec arm at work and this arm works just as well and a significantly lower price... My only complaint, and the only thing that sets this bracket apart from many others on the market is that adjustment for the bracket that attaches the arms to the pole is not user friendly. I have two 27" monitors, the arms can support the weight with no issues. But the bracket in the center has a tough time dealing with the weight without sliding down. From the factory this bracket has a lever that turns a bolt to adjust the tension on the clamp. That lever only allows for a 180" turn. This will not allow you to tighten the bolt enough to keep the arms from sliding down. You must take out the retention screw, (phillips) tighten the bolt with a wrench, put the screw back in and then you can tighten the arm down. BUT the arm is so tight now it does not easily move. At some point it is just physics. If a courser threaded bolt was used, or a bolt that allowed full clearance for the lever, this may not be an issue. For the most part once the arms are in position, this portion does not need adjusted. I am just happy to find a mount that allows the monitors to be raised to clear a laptop screen. This monitor works best if the desk is not pushed all the way against the wall, or you drill holes to mount the arm a few inches in from the back ( arm clearance) again this is not a fault of the arm, it is just the way it is! My desk has a wood back and would not allow use of the clamp, but I used the 6 holes in the back of the mount (meant to attache the clamp) to screw into the back of the desk. I am very pleased with this mount. I do wish this USB version was offered in black instead of silver. ... show more

  • Amazing, sturdy, and great quality!

I spent some time trying to figure out the best option for me. I have three monitors total. One already had its own arm stand. The other two had the stands with legs, which I replaced with this item. My concern was weight. This can definitely handle the weights of both monitors, roughly 13 and 15 lb each. (The details above say it can hold up to 20lb per monitor btw.) Assembly was straightforward. Comes with everything you need. Easier to put together than Ikea furniture, that's for sure. Clipping the monitors on is super simple too. My best advice is build the arm stand, clamp it to your desk, then add the monitors. The monitors are clipped in and has a lever for release, so it is safe and you don't have to worry about it falling off. Don't be alarmed if your monitor is too heavy at first or goes up too high. You have to manually adjust the arms in two points--one to adjust the angle of the monitor, the other to adjust the height of the monitor. Super simple, you just turn it and adjust it depending on your monitor's weight until you can easily move it up and down without it falling in one direction. Metal rod is strong and sturdy, so def recommend. ALSO... didn't realize this, but it actually comes with cable support for a USB connector and audio cable connector on the monitor. It is possible to connect those somewhere if you want to have those ports easily available. Just FYI! Was unaware at first! ... show more

  • Professional-grade Monitor Arm - Consumer-grade Price!
Great monitor arm! Very heavy-gauge metal in the base and mounting hardware. As an I.T. guy who has worked with many other monitor arms, this one is among the best available, no matter the price. The picture shows 2 32" monitors at the sides and a 27" mounted vertically and the arm handles them with ease. They can be moved up, down, or angled to any conceivable position, and this isn't so on more monitor arms than you would expect. 2 suggestions that should be considered when making this purchase. 1. Think seriously about ordering the arm intended for 3 monitors even if you only want to install 2. The reason is that it features 2 screws to drill through the desk instead of just 1 on the other model. The clamp install isn't as stable as drilling, and 2 screws allows for better balance and a more secure installation. 2. Consider cutting a piece of 1x4 wood or plywood and installing it between the desk and the mounting nut and washers. This gives the arm a more stable base and makes the arm less likely to fall over and damage the monitors and the desk they are installed on. While it may seem like too much effort to drill holes to install a monitor arm, the clamp install works less well as the monitors to be mounted gain size and the inevitable weight that goes with it. Most of us have a family member or friend who can help getting the holes drilled correctly as a favor, and it will be well worth the effort when everything is set up correctly. The other thing to be expecting is the use of the enclosed Allen wrenches to adjust the arm to stay in place and not flop down when the monitor is installed. If you use 1 hand to support the monitor and the other to use the wrench to the correct tension, it only takes a couple of minutes to get 2 arms to the right tension and position adjustment. The bottom line is that a monitor arm saves more desk space than one would believe if they've never worked with one, and the effort spent to get it set up properly will be repaid fairly quickly when your setup looks as clean and professional as the one pictured. ... show more
