I became a Beautyrest fanboy 20 years ago. I’ve owned a handful of them over the years. When my last Beautyrest started sagging I started looking into hybrid bed in a box type beds like Purple and Casper. I ultimately purchased a Dreamcloud, it was their top of the line mattress at the time and it was close to $2K when I purchased it. The Dreamcloud was a serious disappointment. It was sagging within a month. Based on the reviews, I’m not sure if I had a bad one or they’re overpriced junk. Regardless, it was a complete fail and I overspent on something that didn’t live up to the hype. After the Dreamcloud experience I swore I would never do the bed in a box thing again. Never say never. I recently found myself in a situation where I needed a bed and budget was important. I did a ton of researching, read a lot of reviews and decided to roll the dice on this mattress. I purchased the 12” Queen. As others have stated, the box is heavy. I was able to get it into the house and onto the bed myself but it is a heavy mattress and I would recommend having a helper. The mattress pops up fast once you open the plastic packaging. Mine was fully up within an hour but I let it decompress for 2 days before sleeping on it. The corners were fully up and everything was set after 2 days. This is a very comfortable mattress. This mattress is not as firm as I had hoped it would be initially but I’ve quickly realized it doesn’t have to be very firm. The mattress provides a lot of support. I don’t wake up stiff and I don’t toss and turn while I’m sleeping. I rest and I rest well. The edge support on this mattress is solid when it comes to the sides. The foot and head edge support are a bit disappointing but for the price of this mattress I am happily overlooking that issue. I like this mattress so much I just bought one for my mother and another for my son. This isn’t a Beautyrest but it’s a lot better than my overpriced Dreamcloud and it’s a fraction of the price. Far superior mattress compared to the mattress we are replacing that we paid $1500 for 2 years ago in the Milwaukee area at a salesman-free store. This mattress is incredible!! So comfortable. Best nights sleep in over two years. Excellent support for two adults. No sagging. Great back support. Woke up feeling the best we have in over two years. Don't waste your money on big box retailer $1000+ mattresses, they are a scam. This mattress blows everything out of the water. I loooove my bed!! I took months to decide on a mattress. Finally, I decided on this one after reading the reviews. Best choice ever. I owned a Sealy Memory Foam mattress. It was horrible on my lower back. This mattress was not only affordable but medium firm and very comfortable. It’s not too soft and not too hard. I am a back and side sleeper. I’m comfortable in all positions in this mattress. I also have an adjustable bed frame, and although this mattress is not recommended for this bed frame, I adjust it and it works fine. I’m 5’6”, 185 lbs. The bed came in a box and it was heavy. I needed help carrying it inside. Easy to open and even comes with a plastic opener so you don’t slice your bed with scissors. ;) The bed expanded quickly although I still gave it 72 hours before I slept on it. The edge of the bed is not bad either. I’m able to sit on the edge without slipping. I’m finally able to sleep through the night! I’ve had the best sleep! If you get this bed, sweet dreams to you too! ... show more

Very heavy the Cali king you will need many hands to carry this mattress . Overall it is nice and comfortable , I wouldn’t day it’s very firm maybe medium firm . Really good for the price overall .

Update: After 2 1/2 months, I'm still loving this mattress. My back and posture are improved and no pain. I also got a gel neck pillow for my neck. Sweet dreams. I researched mattresses thoroughly before buying this mattress. I even read all of the reviews. I was prepared to do this and do it correctly. First, the box arrived and for a King it is well over 100 lbs. I read it was about 85 lbs. but that obviously was for a smaller mattress. It took me over an hour just to get it through the front door. Then it was pretty easy to "walk" it along the laminate flooring into the bedroom. Second, I watched several videos of "bed in a box" type mattresses and they easily slide the box up and over the top. So, I tipped the box over, cut the bottom flaps, opened the flaps, and tipped it back up. The flaps were under the box still, so I ripped the box to shreds. Third, I leaned it on the bed frame and picked up the other end and got it on the bed. Fourth, I read the instructions, which weren't very detailed. But it clearly said on the protective film which way it would unroll and an arrow pointing in that direction. Fine, so I have to get the protective film off, and the only way was to roll the tube a little so I could get under it to unwrap it. I did, all the while, keeping an eye on that arrow. And then, POOF, it flipped out and inflated. Voila! it was perfectly laid out on the bed frame . . . except that it was upside down. I spent the next 2 hours trying to flip it over but without success. I finally called a neighbor, and he helped me get it back right-side up. Not sure where exactly I went wrong . . . but don't do that. I slept like a baby that night and have had great sleep since. I hope that continues because I love this mattress. It's not too soft, nor too firm for me. I'm a side sleeper with a tricky back so I need both but not too much of one or the other. Getting out of bed is easy with the edges being very supportive. It's one of the best mattresses I've had. ... show more
