I ordered this ladder for 2 reasons. One, it was slightly longer than most - it was listed at 16.4 ft while most are 15.5 ft and I think I need that little extra length for my home. And second, it was on sale for $50 off. To my surprise, when it came the box says it is indeed only 15.5 ft long. That disappoints me. Amazon needs to crack down on inaccurate descriptions.     • I purchased a 16.4 foot ladder. The shipping box said it was 15.6 foot.
Only used it once but two sections were sticking when I went to drop it down. Had to lubricate it. Hope this isn't a continuing problem. Also if the ladder is only 15.6 it may not get as high as I need it.

The steps are too narrow. The first step is to far up. Not good for a sort person. Too heavy.

    • So far, so good. However, I plan to use this type of ladder with extreme caution.
I needed this for use with my RV. Trying to take a traditional ladder with me just does not work. However, I urge caution when using this type of telescoping ladder. I have been looking at them, reading reviews, and needing one for two years now. I have yet to find a telescoping ladder with good reviews. I can only hope that this brand turns out to be the exception over time. So far, so good. Apparently, the problem with this type of ladder is when it fails, it fails suddenly, and you can get seriously injured. Watch where you put your fingers when opening and closing the ladder. Crushed fingers were a common complaint. Also, before you step on the ladder, make sure all of the rungs are securely locked in place. If a 12-foot ladder comes crashing down, it is going to hurt! Worse, it could do more than just break and arm or a leg. Be alert, be careful, and double check before using it each and every time you extend the ladder. That is what I have concluded from all the reviews I have read. From reading the reviews, this type of ladder scares me. I plan to stay on the first few rungs until I convince myself this ladder is reliable and safe. That might take a few years. In the meantime, I needed this ladder so I will proceed to use it with caution. For me, this is a very heavy ladder. It weighs almost 50 pounds. It is heavier than I feel like I can safely deal with on my own. That being said, I am even more leery and cautious. Proceed with caution if you need this type of ladder. ... show more

I had seen these collapsible ladders before but never tried one. I was pleasantly surprised in how easy it is to carry, store, and use. Sure, I prefer a “real” ladder – either a stepladder, a more rigid fiberglass extension ladder, or a “Little Giant” configurable ladder, but this is handy to throw in the back of the truck or pull out for simpler jobs like cleaning out a second floor dryer vent. The plus side is clearly the portability and ease in set-up and take down. It is very intuitive, which is great as the instructions are worthless. A negative is that there is quite a bit of flex to the ladder when fully extended. It doesn’t feel like it will come apart or that you will lose your footing, but if you are skittish on ladders, this won’t help. Another issue is the size of the bolts provided to secure the base bar to the bottom of the ladder. As the photos show, they are far too long and I was concerned that I would scrape myself on them or they would hang up on something if thrown in the back seat of a car. I cut them to length and filed them smooth, but it would have been far better if they had just included the right size in the first place. Also, other reviews have mentioned their ladders coming with spare clips; mine did not. I hope they don’t break. These issues aside, it is a handy addition to your tool kit and the only thing that will work in many cases. ... show more
