It runs perfectly quiet and perfectly cold. It has more room than others of its size because it doesn't have a freezer compartment and I didn't want one. However, I bought this one as used; usually used are just about perfect but this one came damaged. Looks as if the delivery person drop the box a few times because two of the corners were bashed in, and it's easy to see why because the box itself was bashed in. But because the corners are in the back, I don't notice them. However, there is a dent in the front part of the refrigerator but doesn't affect anything. Amazon gave me a reasonably good credit on my account through a gift card without any argument at all. They were so nice to me and I appreciate it. I'll just get used to the dent because really the refrigerator works perfectly well. I was able to fit more things in there than the refrigerator of similar sized that I owned. ... show more

This is the second one of these I have ordered. Both arrived damaged in apparently undamaged boxes. I guess the 1/2" of styrofoam included around the fridge wasn't quite enough? Or maybe the manufacturer just sends out damaged products. Not sure. Three of the corners were dented in, and there was a dent on the side. The first one arrived in even worse shape. I sent the first one back for refund, but I really do need a small fridge soon. Amazon offered me a small price concession for the damage, but I would rather have had one without all the dents. Is Avanti as bad at building refrigerators as they are at making boxes? I hope not. So if you order this, make sure not to cut the straps around the box. If the inevitable damage that just about every review mentions bothers you, then you will need them to send it back. And if you do decide to keep it, I would also keep the box and "padding" for the Amazon return period, because once that's over, the manufacturer warranty requires you to send it back to Avanti at your expense. That's right: if there's a problem during your 1 year warranty period, then you are responsible for sending it back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. So depending on cost, it might not even be cost effective to return it. That makes their warranty pretty much useless. Buyer beware ... show more

My previous fridge wasn't handling the humid weather very well and the little "freezer" shelf in the top corner would turn into a solid block of ice within a week and become unusable. Not only that, but it also seemed to prevent the rest of the fridge from chilling properly (perhaps because airflow was blocked). I've got my new Avanti installed. First of all, it is very quiet. I only notice when it turns on or off, and then it's only a quiet click that is easily ignored. It's installed right in my bulkhead a few feet away from me so I'd notice if it was noisy. I had no trouble swapping the door hinge side as soon as I received it. Popped off a few plastic rivets, removed a few screw-in bolts and placed them in the other side and I was done in less than 10 minutes. The interior layout is a big plus for me. I didn't need a freezer, really. And having it in the top corner meant I couldn't easily access the shelf in the back or the left side very easily. This new model has no freezer shelf, just vents in the back to circulate the cold air. I can reach every part of the interior despite the fridge being mounted in my bulkhead over the stove-top on my boat. And the small middle-shelf is a lot more useful than I expected, as it turns out there's lots of little jars and such that would have eaten up a lot of space on a full-size shelf that are right at home here. I bought this for a tenant who shares my home. He is a fruit fanatic and he filled up the refrigerator three of us share with his horde of fruit. I gave him this to put in his bedroom. He is so happy. The rest of us are, too. I had previously bought one for the tenant who drinks a lot of beer. Now he sits in his bedroom playing poker online and doesn't stumble out to get more.
