Just pull the trigger on the chop saw and with a one second delay the vacuum turns on then turns off when you release the trigger. How cool is that. A time and back saver. Some advice from my school of hard Knox:) The switch is great, but if you have a high horsepower saw and a high horsepower vac, a 15 amp circuit won't run both. I have a 6.5 Hp vac and a 12 inch Dewalt chop saw and as soon as the saw pulls more amps during a cut, my breaker trips. Your setup may be lighter on the amps, but just make sure before you purchase because this auto switch like all of them will only include one power source.

I have been using a Bora Centipede as my miter saw bench with a shop vac for dust collection. This has made my setup so much nicer to use now that I don't have to touch the shop vac. It's on when the saw gets up to speed and has a slight shut off delay when the saw stops.

I love this Otis automatic vacuum switch. It’s easy to use and works perfectly every time. I use it for my shop vac so can’t comment on connecting it to a dust collection system. I looked at a few of the other switches before purchasing this one and none were suited for my needs. Others were two plugs for vacuums and only one for tool. The Otis switch is designed so that two tools can be plugged in at once with the ability of either one to trigger the vacuum. I’ve used it on a variety of tools including my job site table saw and a small router table without any problems. I’ve dragged it around, dropped and stepped on it multiple times and still no issues. Lately I seem to be using my miter saw most often so the switch is now mounted next to the saw but still accessible so that I can reach it and plug in whatever other tool I may need. I like having the option to turn the switch to auto, off, or on. The shut off delay times also come in handy depending on the circumstance. I plan on buying a few more of these switches so that I can mount permanently next to stationary tools and have at least one that will be mobile so I can drag it around as needed.

This is a great product. This is my second one. I broke my first one when I accidentally tripped over a chord, and the back broke away from the front. My fault, not the products.
