This door keeps me from having to let the chickens in and out 2x a day. It works exactly as described. Make sure you have AAA batteries. Their solar panel is sold out or I would have opted for that as well, but the batteries are supposed to last 6 months.

    • Worked perfectly
My husband & I work a night shift so we hav to go to sleep in the early afternoon. One of us was staying up to make sure the chickens got settled for the night & the coop door was closed. I got this auto door so we wouldn't hav to worry about staying up. Instructions were easy to follow. My husband cut out a hole based on them. The door fit perfectly. Once we initially charged it up & turned it on it defaulted to a light sensor mode. At dusk it would close down & open back up in the morning as soon as sunlight hit the sensor. I changed it to a timer setting so that it would close later & giv the chicks plenty of time to get in there & its still on the light setting to open in the morning. Couldn't be more pleased with the way it works. The only thing I didnt like was that the charger cord could be a little longer but we made it work. Overall a great product! ... show more

I love that it functions with a timer or just by solar light. You can set it to use a timer for closing at night and solar opening in the morning, solar at night and timer in the morning or solar for both or timer for both. In this way, this door is versatile. Also has an anti pinch feature so it work hurt a chicken if they’re standing underneath at closing time. So far, I’m very happy with it! ... show more
