Pumps was easy to install and is very quiet. I'm hoping that it will last much longer than my last one. The only thing I want to mention is the wiring diagram is wrong. I had to reverse the brown wires to make it operate properly.

My son is restoring an old boat, so we ordered this 1100 GPH bilge pump from Better Boat. The pump comes prewired but does not include any hoses or connectors for the wiring. There are three ways to wire this pump: 1. To a basic switch where it is always on or always off. 2. Wired in automatic mode, so if the switch is turned on, the pump will automatically run if the water level gets high and will shut off when finished. 3. Wired to a 3-way switch where you can have it either on, off or in auto mode. We chose option 3 since it was simple to implement and offers the most flexibility. However, we would typically keep it in auto mode, so option 2 is also a great option. The performance of this little pump is excellent and pumps the water very quickly. We also ordered the hose kit by Better Boat, and it worked well. For the given price, this is an excellent pump.

This bilge is perfect for my ski boat. The fact that I can set it in the bilge and not worry about having to turn on or off the switch makes me incredibly happy. I can leave my boat in the water and know with confidence that if water somehow makes it in and down into the bilge, the float switch will automatically trigger causing the bilge to start pumping water out. One thing I love, is that, I don't have to worry about a life jacket or a rope that's being stored in my bilge to trigger or prevent the pump from working because it's contained inside the pump. (This is a must for me and my boats). Installation was super easy, and allows me to enjoy my time on the water more. Having this installed allows me one less thing I have to worry about. I strongly recommend this for anybody who's looking for a self-contained automatic bilge pump.

This pump does what it is supposed to. It pushes about 1100 GPH of water through the hoses. I love it!! I am using this for a non boat purpose though. I am running my huge 50 inch gold sluice box in the greenhouse this winter. This pump perfect for a sluice box. I am running heavy black sand and you need good water flow for this. I am running 4 ft of Dream Mat Micro in the sluice and you can see by the photos I included that the water flow is great. In the first photo you can see the ripples over the sluice mat. In the second photo you can see how much water is coming out of this pump. In summer I can take this to the beach and go mobile with it. It draws only 3 amps which means I can run it all day.

This was part of an upgrade to my boat. Having a Catamaran, there are many places that water can collect so bilge pumps is the aim. This one was installed in the aft port hull. The installation was easy except I needed more hose. I'm about 2 feet too short. The hose does not come with the pump, but you can get it from the same seller which is what I did. Blige pumps are easy to install. I used a two wire setup with no manual override. So Black to Neg, Brown/White to the switch panel. Turning on the switch then turns on the automatic function instead of forcing it on all the time. This works for me, but you may want to wire it differently. Flow rate is quite large as can be seen on the video. That's a 1 1/4" diameter hose its flowing out of. It switched off when it the water level dropped enough. Seems like a good product. Hope it lasts a long time! --------------------------- Same problem as the 3/4" hose review. Its forcing me to review them as the same product but it is not. The 3/4" pump is very similar to the 1.25", the two differences are the diameter of the outlet and the flow rate. Both work very well. I've had the 1100gphinstalled for awhile now but fitted the 750 GPH 3/4" today. Fitting was a real pain, which is why this one was installed weeks after the first one. That however has nothing to do with the product. That has to do with running new wiring on my boat. Thankfully its done and I won't need to redo it for a long time if ever. This particular pump works just like the 1100GPH reviewed above. Sounds the same, looks the same (bar the color) and is wired the same. There are no surprises. As a bonus, the 3/4" version hose kit actually fit correctly to the 3/4" pump. The same could not be said of the 1100GMP pump hose kit. These both look to be good pumps. They just work.
