My super duty truck didn't come with a backup camera so I had an older backup camera system where the camera mounted just above the license plate and I would hit it sometimes or things would occasionally fall on it, I was always nervous of damaging it because of the spot it was in, plus I couldn't really see the ball of my hitch when trying to backup a trailer, it helped out alot to line me up but knowing how far back I needed to go was still a small challenge Now that I have this cam7 backup camera that has the oem style attachment to it, I mounted to the left corner of my tailgate handle as shown in the picture and it looks like it belongs there, it's out of the way, securely mounted and just plain works in that spot, so much better than the older style backup camera, I can actually see the ball of my hitch now, such an all around big improvement, the camera picture quality is great, the build quality is great, the install was super easy since I plugged it into the new autovox t9 pro system, you won't need to use the extra set of video cables that the camera comes with Very satisfied with my purchase, 10 out of 10 would recommend! ... show more

With this new camera, i can now see both sides of my rear bumper. Which means, when a car comes along side of me, I can still see them in the mirror until I see them beside me. Very helpful to eliminate blind spots. The image is a bit more washed out that previous, but worth the field of view improvements. I did have to cut a couple of wires for (signal type and orientation) for it to work with my AutoVox T9 system - but a quick answer from the Customer Support email (Thank You!) and it worked. ... show more

    • What's not to like! Good product at good price, performing as described.
Clear correct English instructions, unlike so many others which are unreadable or useless. Installation took ~30 minutes. Replaced other OEM's camera included with aftermarket radio, which used a weak, hinged mount which rusted. This performs exactly as described! Clearer, undistorted picture, and wider view than the original camera, both day and night. And I don't need to worry if the car wash will rip it off. I'll be ordering 2 more very soon for other rearview camera and backup camera applications on a radio from another OEM. ... show more

This is one of those places where it pays to not cheap out. The amount of work that goes into installing a rear view camera, you really should spend a little bit of money. My last car got I think a $14 camera and I paid the price in the long run with poor picture quality. This camera looks exactly as good as the camera in my late model Camaro. Crisp image great night vision, optics, the stuff about the lens technology is definitely real definitely a huge benefit. Buy with confidence, paid $39 I think would buy again. ... show more

Supposedly the image quality is 1080p but that information is incorrect the quality is equal to the other 720p cameras and at night the image is not good either so they should correct the product description. I have another car with a 720p camera and it is similar if this camera is supposed to be 1080p it should be much better but it is not nearly the same. ... show more

I added this to my AUTO-VOX T9PRO OEM Rear View Mirror Camera which is excellent. Pretty straightforward as it comes with the same 4 pin cable. Better camera and wider angle. Of course it can be used to replace your ORM backup camera as well.
