    • Works great if you know how to position it
I've been using this product for about a year now as there are some unsavory characters and constant vehicle prowl in the area. Some things I've noticed about the lock: 1. The catch on the locking pin can get caught up on the second hole when trying to remove the lock. Pushing the pin back in and pulling out quickly normally frees it up. 2. The key must remain in the unlocked position in order to install/remove the lock. 3. The key will turn when it's not engaged with all the pins. If it's not going in all the way, rotate the key a half turn while pushing in and it'll drop into the rest of the keyway. 4. Position the lock such that it cannot be slid up the pedal or swiveled up and out of the way. I like to position mine as tight against the floor as possible and slightly angled down. Preferably lock a pedal that has a safety switch that prevents the vehicle from starting unless the pedal is pressed. Unfortunately I had a recent experience where the lock prevented the theft of my vehicle. The would-be thief damaged the door lock and ignition cylinder before realizing the clutch pedal was locked in place. It likely prevented the theft of the vehicle. This lock is not very visible to thieves and will likely pair it with a steering wheel lock/"club" in the future as a more visible deterrent. ... show more

Works on my truck but would work better if the floor behind where the pedal is mine has a step so the pedal can be pushed down.

Fits my 2016 Kia soul brake just fine! Pretty study. I’ll even admit it’s even hard for me to take off sometimes. But it gets significantly easier with time and understanding the lock mechanism

    • Be sure the brake pedal is 100% immobile after you lock it...
I had a little trouble getting it on the brake pedal of my car. The device does fit on the brake pedal lever. The triangular locking brace contacts the floor horizontally vs vertically. I managed to get the pin through the third hole on the locking brace which eliminated the ability to depress the brake pedal and start the engine. To take it off, you have to remove all tension from the device before the pin will totally extend to remove the locking block from the brace. Bought this lock for the clutch pedal of my manual shift pickup while we pulled a trailer from CA to TN. The lock mechanism was contrary from the get-go but after some oil and fiddling it seemed to get better and definitely raised my comfort level when we parked at hotels for the evening. But on the fourth day of the trip, the locking mechanism jammed and now will not lock. I'm feeling lucky that it jammed AFTER I removed it from the clutch pedal. Now I just slip it on and push the rod through for appearance sake. *** EDIT *** Contacted Amazon and manufacturer shipped me a new one. This one seems to work seamlessly.     • Might work for larger car.
I have a small car and found it almost impossible to install the lock without getting out of the car and kneeling with the drivers door open and my back to traffic. May be a larger car with a seat that could slide back further and a tilt up steering wheel this lock could work. Had to send it back.
