  • Good price. Fast delivery. Did not have to go store hoping.
Just what I needed, found what sensor was not transmitting! Was able to download latest up data and register!

  • Scan me up Scotty.
Works great and was able to read the TMPS sensors on my 2013 dodge dart 1.4L with after market rims and sensors. I was worried it wouldn't as many tire places did not have an updated tool in order to read sensors on newer cars. I wanted to avoid the stealership as they wanted $70 just to pull my car into the garage. The only draw back is it is not able to program codes to the sensors. The dodge dart is suppose to "automatically" learn the new sensors while driving, but for whatever reason my car won't let go of the old sensor codes. I was able to confirm the new sensors are working and sending signal with this tool. Additionally Autel does sell a higher model that can reprogram sensor codes this but it costs considerably more. The price increase for the higher model is hard to justify unless you plan on making your money back or own a shop. The software included worked on a windows 7 computer and I was able to update the software fairly easy. Like many have stated be sure to get your updates from http://www.auteltech.com/ and not http://www.autel.us/ as the auteltech site seems to be better managed and updated. Overall it's easy to use, works as it should, seems well built, and is a cheaper investment for the home garage. ... show more

  • Simple easy tool, doesn't cover all years & models and LOUSY customer support
This product works great, easy to use but doesn't cover all years/models for cars. They don't have a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid in the list of cars so I had to use a regular Camry, no biggie. It read the sensors no problem since they are the same frequency. One sensor went bad after a week and the tool would not read it, my Xtool D7 wouldn't read it either. The company said it was my fault and I needed a better tool. This one worked fine, it was the sensor that went bad. Also, LONG wait times on their phone help. ... show more

  • Yes - It just works - even with a 2013 Toyota Prius C
I am really impressed with this tool. I bought Schrader sensors for my Toyota Prius C and then realized I needed a "programmer." After a couple hours of research I settled on this and wasn't sure if it would work or not. It did. It really wants you to register and update first, but I needed to program my TPMS sensors and circle back to that. So that's what I did. The instructions are not the clearest, so I'll recap what I did in case it helps others: - I mounted, balanced my tires and installed new sensors as part of that process. - I then test drove the car for a couple of miles and parked with the engine running and the vehicle in Park. - Next I went into the menu and told it to do a OBD Relearn. - You then read and acknowledge the instructions. - Go to each tire in the order on the screen (you can change tires if you need to) and press the wifi button to read that sensor while holding the tool next to the rubber part of the tire by the sensor (valve stem). - When you are done with the 4 tires it will ask about the spare. My Prius doesn't have one, so I skipped that. - Then you plug in to the OBD with the included cable. - It will do it's thing and it seems to take forever, but the TPMS light will go out and you are done. - I then test drove it to make sure that pesky light stayed off.... it did. I had a physically broken sensor in one of my tires. I was changing tires anyway so I replaced all 4 sensors, reset them and should be good to go for several years. ... show more

  • Underdeveloped Product
In an effort to save a few dollars in my retirement I purchased the Autel MaxiTPMS PAD and 5 sensors and went to work, hoping to save around $200 by “doing it myself. I did my homework before purchasing and all of Autel’s literature indicated that their product would be compatible with my exact vehicle. Initially, the sensors seemed to work in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee; however, that would only seem last for about 15 minutes, after which my system would shut down. I thought that the sensors were not being properly activated, and decided to invest in Autel’s TS-401 activation tool. To make a very long story shorter, I have now invested about 20 hours (mostly in communicating with Autel Customer Service and following their instructions) and almost $400 into a system which now is only partially functional, although I expect that I will be successful once I receive my second tool software reprogram from Autel which they have written specifically for me. This happened only after much effort on my part to convince them that the problem was with their product, and not with me. To their credit, the customer service team was most responsive and helpful. The problem lies in the product itself, in the software engineering.. Had I not had a TPMS system which reads and displays individual tire pressures, had I not been willing and able to actively participate in the diagnostic procedure, and had I not been willing to invest 20 hours of my time, there is no way I would have been successful. The product, as received, was not programmed to be functional in my vehicle, despite Autel’s representations. Bottom line- this product may or may not work in your vehicle. Because of the labor involved in installation, it is no simple matter to remove the sensors, install someone else’s product, and return the items purchased for refund within the allotted time. Had I gone with Schrader, the OEM product, I now know I would have been far ahead- in labor, cost, and frustration. Update 4/19/18- The "customer service" comment below is the kind of response that I've had to deal with and overcome with Autel. It's obvious from the "help" that the author either doesn't understand or hasn't bothered to read my review and simply dismisses this as my error. They've been very polite, but this doesn't resolve issues. I have now received the second software re-write from Autel engineers in China; We'll see what happens. ... show more

  • Good product with excellent support
I originally had some problems with one of my vehicles and support was incredible and proactively worked to get my vehicle working on the TS-401. It now works great on all my vehicles and I plan on using it for an upcoming review on youtube where I compare tire pressure gauges vs. the TMPS (adjusted for my altitude). They provide updates on their website and while the process is a bit technical (for some) ... you basically download the update, using the maxi software ... you connect it via micro USB cord to your PC and then update two files with the latest versions. For those who have done firmware upgrades this is nothing new. SO the cool thing about these updates ... is you get newer vehicle support over time and at no additional cost! I am thankful that Autel really worked with me to make this product as good as possible ... and now I am checking tire pressures right and left, which is my primary use. The product does have two modes: all tires and single tire mode. I personally strongly prefer the all tires mode, as the single tire mode still wants to check all the tires, just in a different and to me, slightly confusing way. I do wish it had a mode to just spot check a single tire and not try to walk me through all 4/5 tires. I would think single tire mode would be more logical as a single tire checking mode. The interface actually is pretty good ... but does have a little learning curve at first. Basically in all tires mode is walks you through FRONT LEFLT (FL), FRONT RIGHT (FR), REAR RIGHT (RR), REAR LEFLT (RL) and spare (if applicable on your vehicle). Then when done you can view the details of all tires. SOmetimes it seems to overstep and make me repeat a tire for some reason. It shows the pressures after each successful reading. WHen reading each tire, I put it over the valve stem and press the button (it beeps) and then move slightly up/down and within a second or two I get a reading. Slick! Thanks again Autel for the excellent product and even better support! ... show more

  • Great product, good quailty. As cars are getting 10 years old with tpms You will get your money back!!
I bought this item for my personal use because i have two cars with tpms troubles. It comes in a very nice plastic case like you would get with a high quaility drill kit. the tool itself has aa rubber coating of good quailty so pro's in a tire store could drop it with out damage. the unit has programing for any auto or small truck so it makes setting it up for the test and trigger very simple. Both my cars were a real pain to trigger the sensors before i bought this unit so going a couple of hours changing tire pressures and going on short drives which only worked some of the time. (If you are looking at this you folks know what im talking about) I reset both cars in less than 15 minutes. The only bad thing can say about this product is when my friends and neighbors find out i have this I will be the first one they call. Great product (Heavy duty for shop use) and priced to save money in the long run. The Nissan dealer quoted over $1000.00 to replace 4 sensors and reset the trucks computer. Not much info in the manual but programing was so easy I didn't need it. ... show more

  • quickly and easily. I put on snow tires every fall
This does exactly what it says on the box, quickly and easily. I put on snow tires every fall, and take them off every spring. Our local tire places charge about $150 for this service, so I've always bought a 2nd set of rims so that I can do it myself in the garage. When we bought our first vehicle with TPMS last year, I learned that this process had become much more complicated. Our vehicle (a 2014 Toyota Sequoia) is capable of holding 5 TPMS codes in its memory at a time (4 tires and a spare). That means every time you put on a different set of tires, you have to replace the existing car computer's TPMS codes with the codes from the new tires. The Autel TS401's role in this process is to read the codes off your TPMS sensors. You'll need another device (I used the ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool - also available on Amazon) to actually program the car. The Autel is far-and-away the lowest price tool that performs this task, and doesn't seem to sacrifice anything by way of performance for price. It's got a fairly intuitive display, and I was able to bumble my way through the UI without reading the manual. If you're a car owner trying to navigate your way through the TPMS jungle, you can't do better than the Autel TS401. ... show more
