  • Way more than what you paid for
My car hit a bump and TPMS went bad. Dealer would fix it with $350. Another mechanic said he will fix it by only $90. He replaced TPMS used his fancy expensive Snap-on scan tool. After 2 minutes driving the light went back on. I bought a cheap scanner and an Autel MX universal sensor and copied the bad sensor in to this sensor and gave it to the same mechanic to install it for $20. Mechanic was still insisting that my car is a corolla 2010 and this universal sensors won't work on it. But it worked perfectly and I could pass my emission test just before deadline. Thanks to Autel and this fantastic product. ... show more

  • Nice Tool - Just Not Happy
Works great on my wife's 2015 4Runner and my 2019 Tacoma, but not with the 2021 Ram 5500 Chassis/Cab. It was bought specifically to check the 5500's six (6) alloy wheel's tire pressures daily. Yes, there is a TPS system on the 5500, but it does not work consistently dropping out one or more tires which in turn creates a creating a TPS fault - just a maddening known fault/issue with the Ram 4500/5500 series. The prime issue is the Autel TS408 cannot "read" any of the 5500's six (6) wheel's tire's sensors. In the menu selections, there is a specific menu listing for the Dodge, Ram, 2019-2021, and 4500/5500. Nope, does not work. Even tried the Ram 3500 just as a fluke, but that did not work either. A trouble ticket was created by Autel after calling-in about the issue. I was further informed the issue being escalated that they do not have the right software for the vehicle. Waiting for Autel to get the software/firmware updated supporting the Ram 5500's alloy wheel's sensors. ... show more

  • Good product with excellent support
I originally had some problems with one of my vehicles and support was incredible and proactively worked to get my vehicle working on the TS-401. It now works great on all my vehicles and I plan on using it for an upcoming review on youtube where I compare tire pressure gauges vs. the TMPS (adjusted for my altitude). They provide updates on their website and while the process is a bit technical (for some) ... you basically download the update, using the maxi software ... you connect it via micro USB cord to your PC and then update two files with the latest versions. For those who have done firmware upgrades this is nothing new. SO the cool thing about these updates ... is you get newer vehicle support over time and at no additional cost! I am thankful that Autel really worked with me to make this product as good as possible ... and now I am checking tire pressures right and left, which is my primary use. The product does have two modes: all tires and single tire mode. I personally strongly prefer the all tires mode, as the single tire mode still wants to check all the tires, just in a different and to me, slightly confusing way. I do wish it had a mode to just spot check a single tire and not try to walk me through all 4/5 tires. I would think single tire mode would be more logical as a single tire checking mode. The interface actually is pretty good ... but does have a little learning curve at first. Basically in all tires mode is walks you through FRONT LEFLT (FL), FRONT RIGHT (FR), REAR RIGHT (RR), REAR LEFLT (RL) and spare (if applicable on your vehicle). Then when done you can view the details of all tires. SOmetimes it seems to overstep and make me repeat a tire for some reason. It shows the pressures after each successful reading. WHen reading each tire, I put it over the valve stem and press the button (it beeps) and then move slightly up/down and within a second or two I get a reading. Slick! Thanks again Autel for the excellent product and even better support! ... show more

  • Tpms scanner
This tpms scanner is a great tool for the price. It was just hard to update it when you buy it other than that everything works great.

  • Good for relearning tpms
Relearning works good. Can sense and identify most sensors. Did not know that this unit can only program Autel sensors. If I had known about the programming limitations, I would have bought a different model.

  • Great Quality, Great Service, Not Quite What I Needed
The TS408 is a well made product and that is obvious after 5 minutes of using it. Bower, the TS408 does not have the ability to write new TPMS codes to the cars computer so I suggest considering the TS508. After writing my initial review Autel customer service emailed me to see if they could make it right. In the end I am satisfied with the result. Customer support like this is hard to find. Way to go Autel. ... show more

  • This is basically available to promote getting the TS508
This doesn't work for my 2016 Camry. I tried everything. As others have said, you need another device to enter the tire IDs. However, when I checked the manufacturer's website, it indicates that this DOES work for the 2016 Camry without the need for another device. After it did not work, I contacted the seller. Their first response indicated that it doesn't work for the Camry and offered me a discount on the TS508. After a few back and forths, I finally caved and purchased the TS508 used off of another website. That one did work for the 2016 Camry. Morale of the story - if you're thinking of using it for TPMS relearn, don't. ... show more
