  • Fixed the droop and it works great
Size: Blue Yeti Compatible Pop Filter
I was annoyed at first, because it wouldn't stay in place, but the droop can be fixed. The gooseneck arm screws into the clamp end. Take it off your mic, hold the neck, and turn the clamp clockwise. The gooseneck has a good amount of tension once the clamp is tight. I deducted a star because I've had to tighten it twice in 4 months, but the pop filter itself works fine and I like the flat clamp. It's a good fit on my Tonor boom arm (T20). ... show more

  • It's A Pop Filter 👍
Size: Blue Yeti Compatible Pop Filter
Material of filter feels slightly too thin, still allows small sound from P's and B's, but was very affordable. Doesn't hold position particularly well, unless bent one time or straight. Overall, when paired with a on mic filter, works well without breaking any banks. A solid option for small and simple audio quality issues. ... show more

  • Deceptive advertising? or clever remarketing of an ordinary pop stop?
Size: Blue Yeti Compatible Pop Filter
This pop filter caught my attention only because of the seller's claims that it was explicitly made for the Blue Yeti, a custom fit. I had grown tired of my largely unsuccessful attempts at screwing my old pop filter to a desk-top ledge, a lamp, or an iMac and was becoming resigned to holding the cumbersome gizmo in my hand. So I thought I'd search Amazon for a pop filter that replaced the heavy hardware--the gooseneck, screws and clamps--with a simple, light-weight, wooden (or plastic) handle. (20 years ago I would have purchased a pair of nylons, picked up a wire coat hanger, and made my own personal pop filter.) When I saw the Auphonix "Blue Yeti Pop Filter," I reconsidered: Why not? a pop filter especially made for attaching to the Yeti itself! It arrived within a couple of days, and to my surprise (and dismay) it's virtually identical with the "generic" one I paid 7-8 bucks for several years ago. From the Amazon description and photo, I had expected an item made of lightweight components and requiring minimal twisting and turning for convenient mounting on the Yetl. But the Auphonix filter is like all the others--same long gooseneck, same weight, same metal components. I can't deny that what you see in the picture is basically what you'll get.. But what's surprising is the packaging which, unlike that shown on the Amazon page, makes no mention whatsoever of the Blue Yeti microphone! On the front of the package are the words "Auphonix Microphone Pop Filter MPF-2," and at the bottom is a paragragh explaining the purpose of a pop filter. Who's the audience? Young teens, who have followed "American Idol" and suddenly find themselves in possession of a first microphone? On the back side of this same package from Auphonix are brief instructions for claiming "Your Bonus Ebook" along with an internet address for obtaining "tips and tricks" for "getting great audio." That's it! In short, were I to see this package and its pop filter hanging from a rack in an electronics store, I would have no reason whatsoever to associate it with a Blue Yeti microphone. Blue Yeti pop filter or not, check the illustration on this page tha shows the filter mounted to the mic.with an illustration showing how to attach a common pop filter to a Yeti. I'd recommend that you first try attaching your current pop filter to your Yeti before putting out $22 for a new one from Auphonix (which at least ia only half the price of the filter offered by Blue). At this time, Amazon's best deal in a proven, medium-quality pop filter appears to be the CAD Audio EPF-15A Pop Filter on 15-Inch Gooseneck , which is being offered ("used" but new) by Amazon Prime for around 10 bucks (to some of us starving artists, that in itself is music to the ears--devoid of sibilants, plosives, and all other irritants.) [Later: - If you're looking for a filter to attach to a Blue Yeti, there's only one small detail that may account for the premium price of filters advertised for that purpose: the piece of metal directly opposite the main, or lowest, mounting screw, is flat rather than rounded or angular. That flat piece--about 1"X .5"--fits flush and tight against the desk-top base that is included with the Blue Yeti. Most filters are made to be mounted on a tubular, floor-length, mic stand. Rather than "flat," that same piece is "angled" or slightly "contoured" for a better fit. (Of course, you can always insert a small metal flat piece in front of the concave one if your purpose is to attach a filter to a Yeti). ... show more

  • Works well, but not designed specifically for Blue Yeti
Size: Blue Yeti Compatible Pop Filter
I've only been using this with the Blue Yeti microphone for about a month now, but it's size and construction make it versatile and allow it to be used with any microphone. So I should be clear here: This filter is not specifically designed for the Blue Yeti. The approximately 13'' long goose neck gives it plenty of range, almost too long for a filter marketed specifically for the Blue Yeti. The clamp fully extends to about 1.25'', you also have the option of mounting it pretty much any surface. However, if you plan on mounting it exclusively to the Blue Yeti, the large clamp will take up a lot of space. Both clamp surfaces are lightly padded with rubbery material so it won't scratch up your microphone or desk. After I made the purchase, I was emailed a link to clear instructions on how to mount the filter to the Blue Yeti, which can be a little tricky the first time around. This smart, because the filter itself is a generic filter and it is large. Without that email, I probably would have mounted it incorrectly the first time. One reminder: if you use the Blue Yeti on the cardioid setting, which is the normal setting for a single person speaking, be sure to speak into the front of the microphone and not the top. Some people instinctively speak into the top of the microphone, because that's what they're used to seeing people use hand-held dynamic microphones like the Sure SM58 Shure SM58S Vocal Microphone (with On Off Switch) . As a result, the correct placement of the pop filter will be in front of the microphone where it may obscure the volume and mute buttons a bit, but it's not a big deal. The filter seems a little big at 6'' in diameter, but I'm glad I went with a larger size. I can use it with other microphones in the future and I don't have to be as precise with the placement to make sure I'm blocking all the wind coming from my mouth. There's a noticeable improvement in reducing pops in my recording, so it accomplishes what it's supposed to do. This filter is a solidly built and I'm happy with it. However, the filter is generic and is not designed with the Blue Yeti specifically in mind, so be aware that it will be big and have a large clamp. ... show more
