I specifically chose this toilet seat because it was quiet close and an easy release for cleaning. However, it is not easy release. Sure, you can "easily" uninstall it for thorough cleaning, but I personally don't consider that to actually be an easy release feature. Yes, installation was quick and easy. The only bad thing is that it is very slow to close. It would be awesome if there was a speed setting selection, or if it would just close a bit faster. This is Still a good product at a decent price.
