After intinially having problems customer service sent a video of everything to check. The video showed all the connections to check. There are several empty plugs for connectors so without the video I never knew that the plug for the Y axis was hidden behind the motor. Once I seen that I plugged it in and it works perfectly now. First and foremost this an excellent laser for 5 watt's, if you want better detail and higher quality outcomes, buy a higher wattage laser head, but for this Laser on a 5 watt level it does everything you expect it can do, could take some creativity to get a nice clean burn on different size objects, but its been a great and fun learning tool by far.. you will need to order a bed for this laser before using it.. I've watched enough videos in the past to know it needs a bed and not to many laser cutters come with one.. so its to be expected that you will need to buy one before getting started it will save you a lot of time and headaches of burning into your workspace.. this is great for small projects, I know not to expect the super deep layer cuts this is a great learning printer.. once you master this, you will be ready to take on a larger wattage laser .. assembly was not to difficult, but then again I've put together a lot of 3d printers and play with things that have an XYZ axis.. Also to note this uses windows based software, Im sure there is a workaround for mac.. but easy for windows users off the start.. tutorials make it easy and online videos will give you more things to try.. I would advise using this and all other lasers in a well ventilated area or even a hood.. I did find that the glass's that comes with it is borderline safe and thought it would be good to note that if you plan to watch the burn happen you might want to invest in some better rated glasses.. but that's just me.. overall its a great laser for the price.. but you get what you pay for either way.. this is a great entry level laser I would definitely buy this laser again... Highly Recommend for anyone beginning down the laser life.. Hope this helps someone ..!!!

The laser came in quickly and with no issues. The Aufero Laser Engraver Machine comes with a 5W laser that works to engrave on wood. The DIY laser engraver and laser cutter works well on wood, metal, certain types of paper, Acrylic, Glass, and Leather. I found the best results with thinner (1/8") woods to engrave on. The process is fun once you get to know the program that you are using and get all the settings correct. I am having fun designing my own projects and have been giving them out as gifts.

The engraver took me about 4 hours to assemble and set-up (connect to wifi, etc.). It is my first laser engraver (but I do have a 3D printer and a technical background), and I didn't find it overly difficult to figure out. The instruction book was fairly clear when read carefully. The only thing I missed was inserting the micro SD card with the software (so make sure you do that). I love that it came with a pair of protective glasses (be prepared to buy more for family members) and some test materials (wood chips, acrylic, and aluminum), but be prepared to buy more. I had to get a work bench for my garage to put it on, I also order an air assist, and a mesh bed to protect my new work bench. Finally I was ready to engrave, my son picked out a pirate image. We were pretty impressed with the speed and results for my very first creation. I think this is a good, beginner, low-budget engraver. (One more note, the air assist that I got had a much larger tube on it, but I was able to fit the tube that came with the Aufero on to it and make it work.)

I've been eyeing this hobby for some time, but I hesitated due to the high cost of entry. This machine is a great compromise for those looking to get started. My techy husband had no trouble with the assembly, even though I found it confusing. It would be nice to have a manual to get started. It took us a bit to realize the incessant beeping was because the memory card slot was empty. The laser is not very powerful so it is slow and takes multiple passes. However, for the power it does a great job. I'm sure I will want more power eventually, but this lets me play around and see how things work.

It takes time to put together but so far, it's worth the time and effort. You have the instruccionas booklet in like 10 languages. Take the time to identify the parts included before starting to put it together or you'll have a hard time. This is alluminum all areound, sturdy. All you need is the screwdriver, the allen is included. This thing is huge but tweaking the belts will have it rund smoothly. The cables are the easier part to connect, just fix it from above the railing with the zipties included and. Follow the instructions, some of the connectors look alike. You get free software for both ios and adroid as well as pc. Still learing to use it but you get some different wood chips tontest this out. I'll share pics of projects in the future.

This is my first ever laser cutter and it has been a blast messing with this new big boy toy. This laser engraver looks very well made. The frame is constructed of aluminum steel so it's lightweight but also very sturdy. The assembly instructions in the booklet was a bit confusing, but I watched a video and it all made sense. After assembly it has performed beautifully and I was able to do some test engraving on some leftover strips of wood. This machine is definitely not safe for kids so those with little children need to take caution and keep them far away from it, both off and during operation.
