  • Very happy with microphone
Style: ATR2100x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
I had a blue snowball and thought that was a decent budget condenser microphone. I wanted to get a different type and found this dynamic cardioid mic. Instantly the sound I am recording is better. My room echos a bit on the other one, enough to sound hollow. This sounds great in comparison. It also seemed to work well even kinda giving me a consistency in volume. That snowball seemed to vary wildly if I didn't speak with an even tone so when recording it would vary wildly if i moved or just stopped speaking loudly. This one doesn't really do that and it made the output sound pretty good at the offset. If i had a purpose for another I would buy it now. Great price for a decent microphone. ... show more

  • Good quality mic if you just want plug and play with no software to install
Style: ATR2500x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
I bought this mic because I needed to upgrade my virtual meeting equipment for work from home. I have a Mac as my work computer so I did not want to have to mess with software to install with an external mic. I hooked this thing up and it worked right away without any issues. Coworkers say it sounds good and the background settings on google meet digitally erase this mic so I can have it sitting on the stand relatively near me and it will not show up on the video. I only have 1 real complaint about this and that is about the added attachment to connect this to an arm. The joint that holds the adjustable circle thing (where you attach the mic) does not seem to hold the weight of the mic very well. It has a screw to hold this part together, but It seems more of just that rather than to tighten things in place. As a result, I tried connecting this to a specific arm and the mic would just flop to a horrible angle. The arm I got probably isn't the best for this type of thing, but it was 30.00 so I figured I would give it a shot. Out side of that, I would recommend this mic for work from home use if you do not want to mess with software to go with it. ... show more

  • Great sound, great value
Style: ATR2500x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
Excellent sound quality for music/speech, easy to set up and use! Wish the mic had an on/off button, but the sound quality is outstanding. I use with my PC Windows 11 and a Google Pixel 7: works perfectly with both, no issues so far.

  • Great so far
Style: ATR2100x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
So far the mic works great. I have it sitting about 17or 18 inches from my mouth and for use in MS Teams, the sound has been reportedly excellent. The build quality seems about what I would expect - good, but not outstanding - which makes sense as this is a sub $100 mic. But that isn't why I dinged it two stars. Nope. I dinged it two stars over the excuse for a mic stand they sent with it. What the heck? Are you kidding me? This piece of junk isn't worth putting in the box folks - you just decreased your reputation over that. If that's junk then maybe you also cut some serious corners on the mic as well - I'll be watching for issues, that's for sure. If nothing else, offer us an option for an upgraded stand - but then to call it upgraded would be generous. How about just offer us a real stand as an option? ... show more

  • There's an odd "auto-gain" function that you should be aware of
Style: ATR2100x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
The microphone is a nice piece of kit, and should work for most people. (As everyone else has mentioned, the stand is flimsy and don't even waste your time with it). But here's my issue: I have it hooked up via XLR through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and it randomly cuts out. I've tried it via USB, and get the same problem. There's some sort of auto-gain function within the microphone that attempts to compensate for varying levels of loudness in your speech by adjusting the microphone to always hold a consistent volume. I don't know if it's my speaking cadence, but when I go back to watch/edit my podcast, there are times where you can see my mouth moving but no sound was transmitted by the mic - the "auto-gain" turned to zero and didn't capture anything. Maybe it's a glitch in the microphone? Maybe slightly turning my head to look at a 2nd monitor took me just far enough away from the pickup pattern that it thought my voice was now a background noise to cut out? I've sent this one back for an exchange, and we'll see if that fixes the issue (and I'll update the review if it does). But heads up, it may not work for a professional who has control over their own setup. ... show more

  • Defective
Style: ATR2100x-USB Pattern Name: Microphone
I have owned 4 audio technica microphones just like this and this is the 1st one I have ever had a problem with. It's likely because It's refurbished and I'm not a 100% sure if it's the cord or the microphone but I will Exchange. My previous microphones like this came with Mini USB time on this one uses USB C, which is great, but again, not sure if it's the cord. ... show more
