Description

The AT-LP70X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is designed for budding vinylphiles – those who love the engaged, real-world experience of listening to records, from flipping through albums at the record store, to placing a record on the turntable, cueing the tonearm, and sitting back with the album art in hand to enjoy warm, analog music as the artist intended. Arguably, the most important component for generating high-fidelity audio from vinyl is a quality phono cartridge. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 60 years, and we’ve drawn on that expertise to create a versatile, high-performance cartridge for this turntable – performance that other turntables in this class simply can’t match. Integrated into the J-shaped tonearm, the AT-VM95C cartridge with 0.6 conical stylus offers excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. And the stylus can also be easily upgraded with any of the other styli (elliptical, microlinear, or Shibata) in our VM95 Series, offering customization that is normally only possible on a turntable with a detachable headshell and cartridge. The easy-to-use AT-LP70X plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phono preamp, can be connected directly to a home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phono input or not. The three-piece, anti- resonance chassis provides a solid foundation that dampens unwanted noise for improved sound quality. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis to limit its impact on the signal chain.

  • Love this vinyl player Love this vinyl player
Color: Black/Bronze
Very easy set up, and loved every feature on this player. I have both 7” and 12” records, so the option to change the autoplay, was such a good feature. The arm was amazing, very smooth when hitting the start button. Great sound from the needle. It looks amazing, I got the copper/black option. Would highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great entry point for the aspiring audiophile.
Color: Black/Bronze
I am relatively new to vinyl collecting. I did a lot of research before deciding on this specific model. I chose this model because it is the happy medium between quality and convenience. As you get into more expensive turntables, you get higher quality parts like adjustable counterweights for dialing in the arm pressure, upgradable cartridges, etc, but you lose features like automation. A lot of more expensive turntables don't even automatically stop when the record is done. I know myself well enough to know I would not be observant enough to be ready manually raise the arm the moment the record is done. This one is fully automatic and sounds great. The stylus itself can be replaced but not the cartridge that holds the stylus. This cartridge is built in, but is a high quality. Another reason I went with this model is that it has RCA jacks, not built in cables, so you can use quality rca cables. It also has a proper grounding screw to ground it to your amp or preamp to eliminate noise. It also has a built in preamp that you can turn off if you are running it into an amp that has a built in preamp (it has dedicated phono jacks) or you are running an external preamp or you can turn the built in preamp on if you are running it straight into powered speakers that don't have a preamp. Anyway, if you are just getting started on researching turntables and are looking for the middle ground between quality and convenience, this is the one for you. ... show more

  • Awesome turntable.
Color: Black/Bronze
I was hesitant to purchase this due to the numerous negative reviews and YouTube videos about the skipping/skating issues. Still, I must say that I have not experienced any of those issues. The sound quality is very good and the manual function makes it extremely easy to use. This turntable may not be ideal for a true audiophile but it serves me well. ... show more

  • Love it! So fun to get back to vinyl!
Color: Black/Bronze
Couldn’t be happier with this turntable. I’m playing LPs that I bought 40+ and which I haven’t touched in more than 30 years as I switched over to CDs and than streaming. Had hundreds of albums but I sold most of, keeping 30 or so of my most favorite. Playing these records transports me back to those years. Love it. The unit seems to be good quality. Arrived overnight in perfect condition. Set up took 10 mins. It’s nice that it has a built in preamp … I’m running the output directly to a set of powered speakers. ... show more

  • Really Nice. The cords were too short for me. Really Nice. The cords were too short for me.
Color: Black/Bronze
Plays nice and easy set up. I have to take off 1 star because both RCA cord and Power cord are to short. The cords supplied will not be long enough if you want to place the turntable more than 3 or 4 feet from your Amp/Receiver/Dac etc. It sounds nice using the Dac/Phono input on my Onkio receiver. I did not try the built in Dac. It is a nice turntable ... show more

  • Great sound and quality Great sound and quality
Color: Black/Bronze
Bought to replace a 20+ year old Sony turntable. Did lots of research and chose this one. Great decision. The turntable is good quality, nice design, great look. Easy connection to my Onkyo amplifier using the supplied RCA cables. The sound quality is very good. Some commented on an issue with skipping. I have no issues with skipping, works very well. The start button moves the needle automatically with smooth precision. Also has a manual drop arm if you want to drop the needle at any location. Nice option. ... show more
