Before I review this engraver/cutter, please know that the original description is incorrect in the following ways: -The mentioned "included safety glasses" are not included. While the protective cover helps, there is still laser light emitting from under/around it, and that is harmful for your eyes. So buy some safety glasses that are rated for this machines laser frequency. -The protective cover is not magnetic and it is not removable. This isn't really a problem, though. I have been using an Atomstack A5 Pro+ since early 2022, and it is a 5W laser. I do not see any difference in cutting/engraving speed using this Swift 7W, but it does have some features that I like better than my A5 Pro+. Those features include: -Limit switches! The A5 Pro+ doesn't have limit switches, and it is a pain setting up your 0,0 origin point. -Setting the focus distance is easier with their new system, instead of using a 2mm piece of plastic under the laser head and setting the tension with a thumb screw. -The laser head fan only turns on when the laser is in use. This makes it quieter when you are in setup or after a job completes. -Smaller power cable, and USB-C connection. -Price. The Atomstack A5 Pro+ was $379, discounted, when I purchased it. This Swift 7W is selling for $150, currently. I think this is a GREAT price for an entry level hobby laser, making it a great value for your money. Overall this is a great laser for getting started, and I highly recommend it. It is laser accurate / precise, and works great with Lightburn software, which I also highly recommend buying.

This laser engraver is really easy to use.Very straight up grape forum beginners.I do have previous experience with three d printers, so I don't understand how the modeling works and stuff like that.But other than that, I was super easy and works well

I have wanted to try engraving for ages but just couldn't justify the cost of the machines. And I read so much about how you practically had to have an engineering degree to calibrate it and have an exhaust system, etc. that I was scared off. But I saw this at such a low price and figured I'd risk it. It was a little tricky to get going with it, I'm sure someone who understands laser engraving wouldn't have any problems, but I do wish the instructions were a little more beginner friendly. I did use it outside with a fan, but if you're going to use it inside, make sure you have good ventilation. You will definitely need to get some good eye protection and I'd recommend a mask, too. One thing to be aware of is what type of engraving do you want to do, because this is only a 7W laser which is pretty low. Of course, more powerful ones are more expensive, so it's a trade off. This is inexpensive enough that you could use it to see if you like it, then upgrade if you want (without risking spending a lot on a hobby you won't stick with). But the 12W version isn't that much more, so just do some research about the type of engraving you want to do so you're not disappointed when you can't do something that needs a stronger or different type of laser.

Left a lot to be desired. It was difficult to put together, took forever to engrave even small projects, doesnt offer much room unless its built up on blocks, and had horrible cut quality even on balsa wood. I definitely would not waste my money on this and would invest in something else.

This ATOMSTACK Swift 7W laser engraver delivers great results once you get it set up. The engraving accuracy is impressive, and it's been able to handle various materials well. However, be prepared for a challenging setup process - the instructions could be better. Experienced users like myself might be able to navigate it, but newcomers might struggle.

The accuracy is excellent — the 0.06mm precision really shows in fine lines and lettering, especially on wood and leather.
