The media could not be loaded. I have never owned or used a laser engraver/cutter, but I'vewanted one for awhile and have always been overwhelmed by the idea of it. This machine was rather simple to use. It comes with an instruction booklet, but I didn't find it very helpful . However, you can easily search for it online as I did. My only complaint: I do wish that I could hook it up via Bluetooth to my computer and use the software on my computer, but from what I found there is no way to do so. It has to be attached to the computer, (the cable is included). You can use Bluetooth with your phone and the free software they have works really well both on the computer and phone, and is very easy to navigate. I just prefer doing things on the computer. Also, this device needs to be used outside or in the garage etc. I made the mistake to cut the basswood inside and now my house smells like a campfire. I make tons of custom book nooks and doll houses and I do find this will be used quite often. It also has taken away some of the anxiety I had about using laser machines and now I'm eager to get a larger one. This is a great size for small projects though. The quality of the machine is well made. Very easy to use and lots of fun. I used one of the free designs off their software and engraved some cardstock, cut the cardstock, and then cut some basswood. Just to see how the software worked and how the materials reacted.

Better than a toy, but not a lot. Seems pretty good for a starter machine. Very portable for taking out to vending sites. The removable base plate is handy for etching on top of large items. Being able to work with Lightburn is a plus. The homing seems to take it a bit too far down and left, so a square that should take up the whole cut/etch area is offset by a significant amount when framing (it doesn't follow the printed square on the base plate). Not sure if this can be adjusted out by moving the limit switches. The work area is quite tiny.

ATOMSTACK P1 5W laser engraver/cutter machine is the world's first entry-level Class 1 safety laser engraving/cutting machine. I love this engraver because you can either engrave or cutout projects. I use this engraver mostly to laser engrave wood projects and it does a fine job. The engraver is very compact and easy to carry around as it is very lightweight. You can use this engraver/cutter on wood, bamboo, paper, leather, cardboard, cork, rock, felt, fabric, MDF, coated metal, some dark opaque acrylic, etc. Great product overall.
