The control and power are an amazing combination. I did have an initial issues with a bad Z-axis limit switch. After a few rounds of emails they sent a replacment that works perfect. The instructions on building the laser are really good. The bags of screws are labeled step by step. All the hardware was present. Bad part, the bags of parts didn't match the build steps perfectly. Stuff like needing screws from step 3 for step 2 and leftover screws from step 2 go in at step 4. Great idea, not perfect implimentation. While emailing Atomstack about the bad limit switch I let them know about the issue and they wanted feedback. So this issue may be fixed in the future. There was one more issue with the instructions. The extension legs to use the rotary. There are threaded holes in the bottom of the frame that look like they should screw into. But they don't fit. No where in the instructions does it say that the T-nuts (long skinny silver bit of metal with a threaded hole in it) are for they legs. The nut drops into the slot in the bottom of the frame and as you tighten the leg the nut turns and locks into the groove. The good instruction just need a little polishing to make them perfect. The english in the manual is really good. Better than most imports. The software that Atomstack gives you (download) works good. Easy to understand. The only glitch I have is when using the rotary you need to mirror the image to get it engraved correctly. I know it isn't rated for it, but I thought I would give it a try. half inch plywood. Very slow, smokey, but it could do basic cuts. Try anything with detail and it would just chew it and set it on fire. But a basic letter could be cut out. Very charred. Very much abusing the limits, but it has the power. When not doing stupid things it will make nice clean cuts. Speaking of power, it is buried in the description, but the laser is only 20 or 40 watt selectable. The switch on the side of the laser actually says that. Atomstack's response to asking about that is the 24/48 watt is the peak power and 20/40 is the sustained. ... show more
