  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty soft, but so far they’re working great.
Fairly soft, softer than I expected. But as far as non-marring goes, it’s working as expected. My vice’s jaws are 4” not 6 but that’s not been a problem. I needed this as fluff to get free overnight shipping and it worked out well. I’ve used these several times in just a couple of weeks. Would buy again. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Not Nylon
The product is fine for basic use. They are thermoplastic polyurethane. Says so on the package. Atlin website says Nylon and has for years. Why this deception I don't know. Nylon and Polyurethane have different properties more important for other industries. Here the material is more flexible and softer to hold pieces firmly without marring the finish, such as gun parts and finished materials. For torsional, or twisting use, like barrels, it may not grip sufficiently. As with steel vise jaws, the face of the jaws should be perfectly clean before clamping. Anything other than steel vise jaws are meant to protect the finish and maximum clamping force should not be used. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for non-marring work!
Easy to use, fit nicely and doesn't mark softer work

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly soft material
They are as described. The magnets hold well. I do see some distortion on two of the cutouts so the molding process is not perfect. I find the material to be very soft, enough such that you can make a small dent with your fingernail. It does seem to spring back pretty fast so hopefully it will be durable enough. The material will prevent marring your work, but it does always hold secure or steady enough such as cutting a bit off the end of a 1/4-20 bolt. I will still need my aluminum "soft" jaws. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars A smart addition to your vise
These provide the grip you need without damaging the surface of the item(s) you are trying to hold. I've put buying these off and finally decided to get them. Within the first week, I used them for a lot of projects that would have been difficult to do without them.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great for gunsmith work
Holds great, plastic a little harder than I prefer but with some mole skin worked great and left no marks.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Good protection
These work very good on my vise. Magnets keep them securely attached to the vise.
