  • Exceeded my expectations. Opens apps and files quickly!
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
This ASUS Vivobook Laptop starts up, shuts down, and opens apps and files extremely fast. The screen clarity and audio is average. This was the best priced laptop I could find with 24 GB of RAM and 1 T of SSD memory. This is the 1st laptop that I saw a calculator printed on the touch pad. I should find this useful sometimes. I wish this would have an SD card slot and Ethernet port, but I knew it didn't when I purchased it. ... show more

  • keyboard lacks backlighting -- wifi chip won't work in ubuntu-- otherwise good buy for the price
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
The lack of backlight for the keyboard limits the use in low light situation (especially when the display brightens up) . Also if you plan to run ubuntu on this machine then you will run into a problem as the builtin in wifi chip is not supported by ubuntu. Other wise it runs fine with Ubuntu although the default ubuntu installation will stall because of wifi lacking support. Otherwise the specs are solid and you can connect an external 4k monitor to get a better display. For the price I think it is a decent buy ... show more

  • Great for my needs.
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
Update: Just took a trip with this new computer. I bought a laptop sleeve for it and I could not be happier with how easy it was to travel with this little thing. My wife always commented on the weight of my backpack and it was mostly the computer. it was so much heavier. In all fairness, it had a metal top and a 12hr battery, so it was going t be heavier. But this is so much easier to carry around. I do notice fingerprints a lot more and the battery life is not as long, but for the price, I'd buy it again and recommend it. I had an Acer business laptop since 2018. It was a bigger, heavy-duty laptop and was also pretty heavy. I was on a cruise the month of March and it just died. I frustratingly searched for a lightweight computer with suitable power for my needs. So many processor options with too many versions of each. Then there was the question of RAM and storage and screens... I also really liked Windows 10 Pro but support for that is ending. Then I realized I don't need a workhorse computer anymore. I settled on this and got the 24GB RAM with 1TB SSD. I don't need the extra storage but I do like RAM. I was searching for a Ryzen 5 processor but in the end this Intel i3 gen 12 processor seems to be just fine for me. It was easy to setup and required about 20min to do. I like the speed and I really like the light weight. The keyboard feels nice. It is not backlit like my previous Lenovo and Acer, but I don't mind. I'm not blown away by the screen, but it is better than the screen on my previous much more expensive unit and fine for me. Also, the touchpad has a number pad feature that can be turned on and off. I think I'm going to like that. I have not tried to install any software yet. I do have Microsoft Office Home also purchased through Amazon (I previously had the pro version). I'm wondering if I'll ever need Office again. That's a decision I'll have to make before the return window closes. My wife and I are traveling a lot more these days and this thin 14" laptop will make it much easier. Everything, including the power supply is smaller and lighter than my previous laptops. That will definitely make this much more friendly for travel. ... show more

  • Budget Computer w/ Budget Performance
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
Got my computer with spec: 24gb RAM and 1TB hard drive for $350 this is a great price for what you get, ON PAPER. This computer sucks. I did downgrade from a MacBook Pro (broke) and did not want to shell out big bucks for a new computer. I thought the higher amount of RAM would help, but ultimately an i3 processor is just trash and you cannot improve performance. The trackpad sucks, often very laggy and unresponsive. The digital number pad is stupid, always gets turned on unintendedly and does not need to exist. No back lit keys makes night time usage impossible. Computer gets hot with light usage. I can run maybe 6 Chrome tabs at a time max. I wish I just spent more money on something decent but unfortunately I am stuck with this for a while. If you just need an email machine or to check your facebook, this computer is for you. If you need to use Excel, anything on the Adobe suite, or any moderate to intensive software, steer clear from this model. ... show more

  • Great deal
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
Good laptop, especially for the price. The screen is great, and it has tons of memory and hard drive space. I use it for school mostly, but I’ve been able to hook up a controller and use Xbox cloud gaming without a hitch also.

  • Definitely invest in headphones
Capacity: i3|24GB RAM|1TB SSD
I ordered this after reading several reviews as I have not purchased a laptop since 2008 the Dell switch top with me having tablets and smart phones it wasn't needed. Well going back to school I needed something else. My kids also homeschool so this is perfect for them as well. It's easily operated and set up i had very minium issues with it as this is my first time with this particular brand and set up. The screen quality was good for me and what I use it for but I have not tried it for video streaming other then college courses online. The keyboard is fine it's like every other laptop and I personally never cared for the way those operated so I chose to order a wireless keyboard and mouse for when I'm at home. The size isn't overly small or large at 14in . It has fans that help prevent over heating that can be a little loud at times but if you aren't in a quiet environment like a library you probably won't notice it. The volume even maxed out isn't loud at all which is a complaint I saw in many reviews. I just ordered noise canceling headphones I'll need those anyway doing my courses at night while my family sleeps. ... show more
