  • Good, simple computer!
CPU: Celeron N4020 RAM Size: 4 GB Hard Disk Size: 64 GB Operating System: Windows 10 S
I will be the first to say I am not a technologically inclined person. When I started online classes for college I wanted two things- flip ability and touch screen. I love that this has windows, split screens, and all the features of it so far are great. The only complaint I can think of is that the volume doesn’t go up very high but I just attach it to my Bluetooth speaker and we’re good to go! This has also come in handy for road-trips when my son uses it to watch movies (so it also connects to hotspots). Overall, a nice computer for what you pay for! ... show more

  • Sleek and capable
CPU: Celeron N4020 RAM Size: 4 GB Hard Disk Size: 64 GB Operating System: Windows 10 S
I love this laptop. It is small and sleek and really fast. It connects to Bluetooth without issue. The tablet function is also really nice it folds back and forth without issue and that is important as I sometimes have to share it with my toddler. Overall, this is a great value for the quality and I will purchase this again for my son for his next semester. I will be receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback. ... show more

  • Excellent laptop but scarcity of ports...
CPU: Celeron N4000 RAM Size: 4 GB Hard Disk Size: 64 GB Operating System: Windows 10 S
Very surprised by the quality performance of the processor, it being a SSD makes a huge difference. The laptop is thin and light. Battery life is very good as well. Sound is much louder than most laptops. What’s not to like? Well...the lack of ports is the biggest pain. It has ONE USB Type-C, ONE micro USB port, and a SD card slot that sticks out (nowhere close to flush). You read that right — NO regular USB ports. If you want to use a standard flash drive or external USB storage drive, you’ll need an adapter. Two for two different ports — you will need a USB Type-C to regular USB (Type-A) and Micro USB to regular USB. Or, you can buy Type-C flash drives...but even at that, we all have regular old flash drives laying about. So, there ARE adapters, it’s just a hassle. Otherwise, display looks great, the “flip” 2-in-one and tablet mode is great, the Windows 10-S has a free upgrade to Windows 10 Home which is super easy. There’s so many things to like about this laptop, the port issue is too bad, but I’m used to it now with the adapter. Hard to give a grade because of the scarcity of ports — but really, the performance in so many ways, and the fact it so incredibly thin and light, and other features makes this a really good deal once you work around the port issue with adapters. ... show more

  • Great Value
CPU: Celeron N4000 RAM Size: 4 GB Hard Disk Size: 64 GB Operating System: Windows 10 S
I use this for checking emails and light web browsing. I upgraded the SSD to 250 GB (easy to do). It's rock solid, has a decent display for the money. It's definitely not a workhorse, but for $350, it's not supposed to be. The touch screen isn't bad, good for quick sketches, but I would not use it for detailed work. ... show more

  • WTF is S Mode??
CPU: Celeron N4020 RAM Size: 4 GB Hard Disk Size: 64 GB Operating System: Windows 10 S
I bought this computer because it was small, lightweight, and had a touch screen. I didn't understand what S Mode is. S Mode means "Safe Mode." Which, according to Microsoft means: "Windows 11 in S mode is a version of Windows 11 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing." Really? Safe browsing. WTF does that mean? Okay, so what if I want to get rid of Safe Mode? Well, Microsoft says, "To increase security and performance, Windows 11 in S mode only runs apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, or if you have Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education and want to upgrade to Windows 11, you'll need to permanently switch out of S mode. There's no charge to switch out of S mode, but you won't be able to turn it back on. If you're blocked from switching and your device belongs to an organization, check with your administrator. Your organization can choose to keep all devices in S mode." Let me preface this statement with the fact that I personally don't believe any of these big tech companies are my friend. I dislike Microsoft. I dislike Google. Yet, I realize we live in a world blessed by these tech giants, and am forced to choose to function in this society. I prefer Google, my email, etc., is all through Google. Yet, I despise Google. I think I said that already. But I DO NOT need Big Daddy Microsoft to keep me safe by limiting my access to other tech companies who are standing in line to !@#$ the public. Once I disabled the S Mode, a warning popped up stating that some of the functions on this device may not function properly once disabled. That's not verbatim, just the gist. I disabled S Mode and didn't realize Microsoft meant the whole computer would stop working. The computer slowed down dramatically, and Google either wouldn't load at all or took forever, same with Word, but Microsoft Edge sure as hell functioned properly. ... show more
