Frequently asked questions

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 typically offers around 5-6 hours of battery life for light tasks, such as web browsing or document editing. However, when gaming or performing intensive tasks, expect significantly shorter battery life, usually around 1-2 hours, depending on the game's requirements and settings.

Yes, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD, both of which can be upgraded. There are extra slots for adding more RAM, and the SSD can be replaced with a larger one or supplemented with an additional drive depending on the laptop's configuration and available slots.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 features a 17.3” 144Hz FHD IPS-Type display, offering good color accuracy and wide viewing angles, making it suitable for gaming and general use. However, for professional photo and video editing where color accuracy is critical, you may want to consider using an external monitor calibrated for color accuracy, as gaming laptops typically prioritize refresh rate over color gamut coverage.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17, equipped with a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, is capable of running VR applications but might not offer the best VR experience. The GTX 1650 Ti meets the minimum requirements for most VR headsets; however, for a more immersive and smooth VR gaming experience, GPUs with higher performance are recommended.

  • Add 2nd M.2, Upgrade Ram Easy + Add SSD spot too
Boots from cold off to on in ~5 seconds! Excellent gaming performance via STEAM CS:GO Fans spool up to a loud state while gaming to keep GPU & CPU cool System opens via normal Philips 000 screws of the bottom plate, exposing the logic board & 45 WH lipo battery Once inside the machine you will find an extra space for a second M.2 NVMe drive, a second RAM slot open for upgrading easily & even a full SSD slot for adding an SSD to the machine! Excellent 17inch 144hz screen dims nicely & has many color modes including low blue night modes Sound most excellent from two vibration isolated (rubber grommet mount) speakers inside that produce excellent volumes levels & surprising base output for their size & design, utilizing some kind of volume optimized acoustically tuned housing to enhance the speakers output & dynamic range. Power brick gets really warm when system running full playing video games Build quality seems really good, including the heatpipe to heatsink fin cooling system on the left & right rear that blows hot air out the back of the unit near the base of where the display connects to the keyboard case. Air even sucked in from the keyboard in gaming specific zones to keep your fingers cool & dry while playing Esports etc Value most excellent given combo of hardware & build quality for $850 that's hard to beat in early 2021 Battery life unsurprisingly mediocre given the 11.4v 4050mah 3S lipo inside the unit, seems like about 3.5-4 hours just browsing the web in Edge, or about 1 hours on battery when playing CS:GO with low settings // I really like the user upgradable design that's easy to open for cleaning or upgrading with simple basic tools nearly everyone has, a 00 or 000 Philips + style screw driver // only 1 corner screw shorter than all the others which are the same length! Thank you Asus! Comes with easy to remove bloatware & the factor M.2 drive really fast with file transfers. Wireless network performance exceptionally fast & low latency! Maxes out potential of my Comcast Xfinity service Very light weight or low mass of about 5 lbs which is really amazing given size of the display, making it easily portable & lighter to move around for excellent ergonomics. A full keyboard with number pad makes the IO a pleasure, though your going to want to use a mouse for gaming, since gaming with the touchpad not ideal for fast pace games // ... show more

  • Good Gaming Laptop for a Budget
No issues so far, great laptop for the price. The larger screen I love; I did do an upgrade to 16GB DDR4 and added 1T secondary m2, still have room for a standard SSD if I want. The upgrade wasn't a required upgrade just something I did to make it a bit more future proof and expand so I could also use it for work. Even with the upgrade the price is below 1100.00 for a very capable Gaming machine. Playing Fallout 4 before the upgrade I was using Ultimate settings and it never slowed down or stuttered. You do sometimes notice the fans spin a bit faster but that's to be expected. It doesn't get hot that I have found, it's heavy but again to be expected; it's built to be tough, to take the bumps and bangs a laptop gets and keep on going. Looks great to, I do notice some fingerprints/palmprints leaving marks but a quick wipe-down removes them. ... show more

  • Performs Well, Fans Not as Loud As Expected
Reading the reviews for this PC, I was expecting this laptop to sound like it's about to take off at mach 5, but it's really not that loud compared to a struggling older PC or an original PS4 pro whose fan is overworked on newer games. Sure it's not quiet by any means, but not nearly as distracting as I anticipated. Performs well but does get pretty warm during intensive gaming even with an additional cooling pad underneath, so definitely get one of those. The weirdest thing is that when you plug or unplug your charger, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds, presumably due to switching power settings. Shouldn't be an issue during gaming sessions however as of course you should have it plugged in for performance anyway, but something to be wary of if your charger cable ever starts to go out. Internal memory isn't huge so I did buy an additional 4TB SSD, which installed smoothly. Runs FFXIV without issues and scored an extremely high on the Shadowbringers benchmark and a very high on the Endwalker benchmark, so should be good for MMO gaming for another couple of years without upgrades. ... show more

  • Excelente Calidad - Precio
... show more

  • Battery life and speaker volume is HORRIBLE!
I do not use this computer for gaming. I only use it for trading stocks, watching YouTube videos and occasionally browsing and uploading movies. The battery life is horrible! As for the sound…. I watch a lot of YouTube videos about stocks. The sound is VERY low. I have all sound cranked up to 100 and it’s STILL low! I would say this is NOT good for gamers. I would not buy this if you are looking for long battery life and loud speakers. The fan is also quite loud. ... show more
