So performance is pretty good. It's hard to really compare but I also have an ayaneo slide handhelp using just a R7 apu, z1 extreme ally using about the same apu, and a desktop with a 13th gen i7 and 7900xtx dedicated and I play the same games on all of them. Everything looks good on the screen and I don't have any serious frame drops running fortnite on default settings and mass effect as high as I can set it. Just zone in settings and balance performance to quality for what you want. Battery is as bad as any gaming laptop, plan on maybe an hour on battery. Feels durable and looks nice, I picked mine up "used" so I got a great price but it looks brand new. Size is nice, just not really a fan of the camera on the top, a little awkward and annoying. ***SO, the issue. There is a setting- both in the ROG app and the AMD app, that lets it smart switch from APU to GPU based on use. Garbage. Annoying, game crashing, computer locking up garbage. Mass effect 3 will go into a cut scene, the laptop will see the super low usage and switch to the APU, and when it goes back to the game from a cut scene the computer will have a stroke and either lock up completely or crash the game. ... show more

Change the SSD if you can. It ships with WD green that has no dram. Its supposed to be a gaming computer so, it would be great if a real sad and ram were in there. Its kind of a budget set up so, other than that pretty damn good. RX 7700 paired 8 gb vram with ryzen 7735hs, 32 gb ram and (though I complained) 2 tb ssd. You will see improvements by upgrading the SSD. I think the RAM upgrade matters as well. RX7700 with 8 gb is no slouch and is better than my RTX 4059 with the same specs except nvidia gives 6 gb of cram. Upscaling works really good on both. ... show more

The only reason I'm not giving 5 is because of windows 11. It came with home edition, and it was such a burden to use. I immediately updated it to pro, and used gpedit to disable the crippling updates. The video switching is very annoying. Eventually I got steam to just enable the Radon and leave it on when it's opened. Last week I had enough of this obnoxious updates and installed pop Linux. I drive a truck for a living. I don't always have access to WiFi when I'm down for 10h. I have no reason to keep updating a laptop that does nothing but run games. That's just plain idiotic for this thing to be updating constantly. Do it right the first time. ... show more

Specs wise it's a great laptop but it had many issues even from the get go. Constant stuttering which affect frame rates and slowdowns due to Smart Access Graphics/Memory and other unidentifiable causes. Additionally keyboard backlight went out after 2 months and looks like it needs an entire keyboard replacement. Seems to be a common theme with ASUS TUF and ASUS gaming laptops in general to have a variety of problems, especially on the customer service side and warranty. I spent more time troubleshooting and tweaking settings than I didn playing games on it. I would recommend staying away from ASUS entirely and instead go for Acer or Lenovo . ... show more

This laptop is great for the money. I really enjoy it. It plays my games at a great speed and doesn't lag at all. I will say that the laptop DOES NOT have a rgb backlit keyboard. The keyboard is backlit in white and that's the only color it goes. But other than that its a great laptop for the money with plenty of on board storage. ... show more

Okay I like the laptop overall, but after about two years the track pad started stuttering to the point I can't use it on a daily basis. So I look up reasons why this may be and the internet says it could be a swollen lithium battery that's pressing on the trackpad components. I open it up and the edges of the battery are significantly and unevenly raised compared to the center. But, after I pull off the protective plastic sheet on the central components... TELL ME WHY THERE'S A GUITAR PICK IN THE LAPTOP. Not a new guitar pick - one that has damaged edges and shows signs of wear. I bought this laptop NEW and now, after years as a faithful Asus customer, I am concerned about exactly what is going on right here. I mean, a guitar pick??? ... show more

OK, it's strange that a Laptop with a larger display is physically smaller than the one it's replacing. I've been very happy with this laptop. It plays Starfield flawlessly.
