This was bought as a Christmas present for gaming. So far it has been working flawlessly. My only issue is with battery life (the battery lasts roughly an hour and 20 minutes, before needing to have a charger connected) though that is because I use a desktop, and I'm not fully familiar with what 'average' battery life should be. So, I had to give this a 3 for battery life. This does not come with a camera, so that had to be a 1 star:) Graphics-wise, I'm impressed. As of today, we have played The Division 2, Far Cry 6, and various other games on full settings with no issues (Generation Zero, Fortnite, The Forest, etc.) This is a portable gaming Beast in my opinion. Definitely a 5 for Gaming. we have never connected to any bigger monitor or tv, and have no plans to, so I'm not worried about the issues some have written here. This computer is a beast. What I was really impressed with is how long you can use it on battery if you aren’t doing heavy gaming. You can set it to igpu mode which will let it last 8-9 hours on battery as long as you put it on silent mode. For streaming, browsing and doing documents it should last at least 6 hours. I really wanted a 1440p screen but with this screen at 300hz it’s beautiful! I’m not a big fan of LCD but it’s a very high quality screen. Pictures don’t do it justice. If I want 4K I’ll just hook it up to a TV. ... show more

I was hesitant to buy it since the seller priced it too low at $1300~ but damn, does this laptop tick all the boxes! The seller was a professional in delivering on time with no damage to my box. I have been using this for 3 months now and here's my opinion so far Pros: + Looks! No obnoxious "gAmEr" burning red aesthetics anywhere, the design looks cool and muted with a simple white glowing RoG logo...not something you would be embarrassed taking into the university or workplace + Amazing 1080p 300Hz screen + Ryzen 5 7800H + GeForce 3050Ti work fantastic together + No stutter on most popular games + No overheating in 3 months, the laptop got really warm even under full load underlying amazing thermal management + Fans at full blast are still less loud than competitors + 16GB RAM makes multitasking easy (I can open 5 Chrome tabs now!) + Battery** This is a gaming laptop, designed to be on AC power almost 24x7 despite that I could use this laptop for classwork on battery with heavy statistical applications and got ~3.5-4 hours which for a gaming laptop is really nice + Great port selection and placement with no cluttering on your desk with most ports, including charging being at the back Cons: - With such a thick bottom bezel, ASUS could have put in a webcam considering they included a Two way AI Noise Cancellation feature. No matter how bad, it would still be better than no webcam which, as a student, is really annoying - ASUS bloatware is really clunky (but useful) - Maximum screen brightness could be higher - Charging brick is huge and a literal brick! It’s honestly the best lap tap I have ever owned It loads games extremely fast And I have no issues but 1 tiny con Battery life isn’t that long BUT what makes up for it is that it’s extremely fast to charge so it feels like it barely dies in that regard And so far even while running high powered games and I mean the settings are all on high or ultra i never had a problem with overheating ... show more

It was very easy to set up. I've played a variety of games on it, some with high demands and they have all run smoothly with no issues. I use external keyboard and display for the most part but the built in display looks good and the keyboard is fine. I also use external mouse, but the track pad is okay. I use my laptops as a desktop substitute so I can easily evacuate it if the need arises, fire prone area. So the externals and using it pretty constantly. I thought I might upgrade the ram later but so far I don't think it is needed. Outside of repeating the specs which is pointless there's not much else to say. It runs well and does everything it's supposed to. I've had one recent crash and that was a failed windows update so not the computer's fault. ... show more

Overall, this is a good gaming laptop. I don't run any heavy games on it but have experienced minor lag/frame drops playing Fortnite and Disney Dreamlight Valley. My biggest issue with this laptop is that its display went completely out before hitting a year old. The workaround I have for this is to use an external monitor. I've tried to troubleshoot this myself before contacting ASUS support but had no luck. It took me three tries to contact the US support team for ASUS. Not sure why, but there wasn't a US/America/North America option at all on their support app and I had to google their US site. The support team that I did get in touch with, through the app originally, just told me to go to the US site which wasn't exactly that helpful. After finally getting in touch with the correct support team they did help me by sending an RMA for the laptop but after reading the terms there's no guarantee I'll even get the same laptop back.
