  • Works pretty good but hard to configure by even an expert
The media could not be loaded. Works pretty good but hard to configure by even an expert. Read the manual on this one . The PCIe 5 slot will not work unless properly enabled on the bios . PCIe 4 storage interface must be configured as well. Neither I or a a local tech where able to build an array as the disks kept disconnecting and disappearing . Once configure as individual disks the system works well runs rather hot and very resent passmark scores in all but memory . Top 70% to 92% based in component . 90 percentile over all. I like it better than MSI boards I tested . This is my top high end pc build ... show more

  • Love this motherboard & 12th gen i7 I bought along with it.
My aging game system that I built over 20 years ago was brutally slow. I don't use the PC for gaming and have not for over a decade, having switched to a Playstation 3 on my son-in-law's recommendation just after I built the PC. I've upgraded to a PS4 then PS5 over the years since. But I've used the PC as a programming workstation, SQL Server & webserver for years. Earlier this year I decided to do a motherboard / cpu / memory upgrade on the PC, basically starting from scratch. I'd already upgraded the case, power supply & memory over the years but the tech on my motherboard and cpu was old - really old. This motherboard, a 12th gen i7 & 16 gigs of new memory and everything is much more responsive. Zero log jams on either server running on the same machine. The install for this motherboard was the simplest build I've ever done. Everything basically snapped together & was up and running without any further hassle than a simple bios upgrade. I installed it 4 months ago and could not be happier. ... show more

  • nice board but bad ASUS support site
I installed Win 11 which is 64 bit only. I went to the support site to download the chipset drivers. I picked Win11 as my OS. But it only had the 32bit driver which kept giving a compatibility error. I had to install Armury Crate to get the hardware drivers installed. Who in the world would use a 32bit OS on a 13th gen intel CPU??!!!! ... show more

  • Nice features, Wish I had time to put all new systems together.
Decent board, should be a screamer when it goes together. As usual Amazon will help.

  • Basic motherboard
Pretty basicotherboard, can't complain, just rebuilt my girlfriend's PC with it and everything went smoothly. Would purchase again.

  • Cheap for H770, fully featured, but terrible VRM cooling
The VRM cooling on this board is ABYSMAL, you will want to look elsewhere for peak performance. I bought this specifically because I did not feel that paying more than $180 for a motherboard is reasonable. Edit: I returned the board and purchased an MSI Z790 board that has real VRM cooling. Only get this board if you have no intentions of running your CPU above say, 200 watts at absolute most. ... show more

  • Underwhelming Tech Support So Far
The motherboard itself seems mostly decent. I've had the system running for a month, in a productivity (i.e., not gaming) environment, and it mostly seems to function as desired. The one exception is that the audio is really quiet. I have to turn it all the way up to hear it at all. And I need audio. My troubleshooting steps so far have not yielded a solution. If I'd gotten on the problem sooner, I'd have returned this board by now. I don't want to be saddled with something that may never work. I'm concerned that it may never work because the audio drivers haven't been updated to fix it, and because tech support so far is lame. I've been struggling for a half-hour just to get signed up and logged in through the extremely sluggish ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) forum - which is a turn-off in the first place, because I'm not a gamer and am therefore far more interested in a simple, working system than in the bleeding edge. At the moment, my attempt to get through to tech support seems to have stalled. The attempt to register my product has failed because it is not accepting the serial number that I have entered. I have triple-checked that I am entering it correctly. The site won't let me de-register a product that I registered in 2013 and sold years ago. The tech support link is circular: it leads back to the same page. Apparently I have to call customer support during business hours, so I can't get my issue into a queue now, at night. No idea how long I will have to hang on hold to get through to someone - and since that's customer service, not tech support, there's a good chance they'll forward me to someone else after that long wait. I said that I got logged into the ROG forum, but apparently I was wrong. The Community link doesn't lead to any community; just a choice between an Articles page and an Elite program of some sort. I went back out to a Google search and started over. That did lead to the motherboard forum, but I wasn't able to log in and post a question: its Captcha was broken. I am going to try posting my problem on a non-ASUS forum. No idea if someone will have a solution. The problem appears to be that the driver has not been updated. No idea when or if that will change. I'm afraid I may be stuck with what is, for my purposes, a lemon. ... show more
