Description

ASUS PCE-AXE59BT is a WiFi 6E PCIe® card that allows your PC to connect to a WiFi 6E router via the dedicated 6 GHz band. This means it will not compete for bandwidth with non-WiFi 6E devices. The 6 GHz band provides up to seven extra 160 MHz channels, providing more bandwidth, more flexibility, and less congestion. Disclaimer: Actual data throughput and WiFi coverage will vary from network conditions and environmental factors, including the volume of network traffic, building material and construction, and network overhead, result in lower actual data throughput and wireless coverage.

  • From an Old Gamer
Style: AC1900 | 3x3
So. I was using a 2 antennae'd pci express network card from another company. My internet would cut out on occasion but it was relatively functional. However, I was invited to start playing videos again after a long break. Namely, Valorant. A fast paced first person shooter that requires solid internet. I did not have that with the old card. Bad experiences with the old card was: -losing connection -high ping -lag -time searching for other internet service providers -buying a 400 dollar hotspot (because I thought it was my internet) -losing discord calls -losing zoom calls -losing skype calls Okay. So it was horrible. And I thought I had to live with it. Various internet services (other wireless, satellite internet, even fiber optic) were not available, so I was stuck with what I had. When, it struck me that it could have been the network card, I downloaded and installed the newest driver. I SUPPOSE it helped, but it did not solve the issue. Enter this thing. I was actually torn between this and another model. There was a bad review on the 4 antennae model that scared me so I went with this one. It arrived quickly. Installation: -I downloaded the driver from the website (quickly found through a google search of "ASUS PCE-AC68" then going under the support tab at the Asus website.) -Shut down and unplugged my computer. -Exchanged the 2 cards (since they fit into the same slot.) -Plugged in and started my computer. -Uninstalled the old network card drivers (should have done this earlier but forgot) -Unzipped and installed the asus driver. -Restarted my computer -Logged into my wifi That's it. => I went from not being able to have discord and Valorant on at the same time. => I went from needing to close every single program that used bandwidth to STILL lag badly from playing Valorant. I'm talking that I have nothing else on. And I will still jump from one spot, to another in the game. My gaming was horribly choppy, and unacceptable. The number of times I would die for pure lag is more then I can count. All this solved! No lag. I can have discord and Valorant and even youtube without any issues. It was never my internet after all! It was like magic. I'm a believer. I'm a fan. AND I'm buying another! I know someone who has had some choppy internet issues and I'm thinking I know why! Now for the bad. Did my internet speed increase? No. It's the same. Speed test was exactly the same (or at least close enough.) But what this thing DOES give is a solid and stable internet connection that you can game with! What this thing does is give a solid and stable internet connect you can STREAM with! You read it right. Streamers on Wifi. If you're having issues. Try this first! Btw. This review has not been paid for, incentivized, requested, or another of the sort. No one gave me free product, or a discount. I just found an answer to my suffering and am sharing it to the world! ... show more

  • Crappy range/reception, much too short extension for antennas
Style: AC1900 | 3x3
Crappy range. With the antenna extender/stand setup standing on my desk, antennas straight up, PC is on 2nd floor and Router is on 1st floor about 50 feet away, I'm getting 65dbm on the 5ghz network. I don't really care about speed or throughput that much as I only have crappy 50/5 service from Optimum, I mainly wanted the increased reception. For reference my router is a Netgear R6400. My old PCI network card was a Netgear N311B which also has an external antenna, it got a great 40dbm signal but I started having a lot of dropouts and after troubleshooting and replacing everything else it came down to the PCI card, plus I wanted the 5ghz channel to also rule out interference or crowding on the 2.4ghz. I will give it a couple of days to see if it's solid, and if there is no issue streaming high definition and such as it's possible the dbm's are crappy, but if the signal is tenacious and does the job I'll update my review. Update: range/reception is still poor, much worse than my old N311B. If I wasn't out of the return period I would return this. I've found another issue, the card does not let my PC go into sleep. I've spent hours troubleshooting this, including turning off any hardware, magic packets, etc which could turn on the PC, I've gone through EVERY single setting and have done sleep reports and diagnostics. My PC will wake up about 30 seconds after it goes to sleep due to this card. The simplest test was just to physically take the card out of the PC. With the card out of the PC it sleeps and stays sleeping. With the card installed in the PC it won't stay asleep. Another gripe is the really short length of the extension, seriously? It's about 2 1/2' long, but that turns into closer to 1 1/2' quickly once you turn the cable to place on a desk, and leave a little slack if you need to pull the PC out. It's barely enough extension for me to mount the plate on my desk, when the PC is right next to it on the floor and I have a very small desk. Having them extended only improves the dbm by 2-3 so it doesn't seem that useful anyhow. What I'd like is to be able to mount the antennas on top of my wall mounted monitor to get the best reception, but let me partially hide them behind the monitor, but that would require another 1-2 feet of extension. What's worse is you can't disconnect and extend at the plate which is only one wire, you would have to purchase 3 adapters/cable extenders, one for each cable. So now I'm asking myself why I spent almost twice as much as the TP brand one? It was for the increased reception the external antennas should have brought. ... show more
