  • Nice feature. Last thought
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
I used this board to consolidate 2 of my 6 GPU Nvidia 1060 rigs. Used 2 750W PSUs and got all 12 card recognized right away. Has been running stable for 2 days now and I don't expect any issues. For mining purposes, this is a top notch board. The only 2 gripes I have (minor) are that the board does not extend far enough to mount 3 of the standoffs so it only sits on 6 standoffs. Just be careful to support the board if you are connecting or removing the ATX power connector. The other is lack of m.2 socket but that is understandable. Since the BIOS shows the GPU connection status on boot, it is a snap to figure out problems should you lose a card or can't get one to work. It pinpoints the one right from the get-go. Nice feature. Last thought...having the option to put it in mining mode where it adjusts all the settings is great. The only other setting I change is the one to automatically switch it on on AC power loss. Makes for an easy and consistently accurate BIOS configuration. I have about 6 of these and will be buying more. ... show more

  • very good high quality and performance
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
i bought this for a mining rig build. my mining rig ran an entire year with no problems. very stable. very few reboots. no crashes. my rig is running six video cards. the software that comes with this will auto start mining software. some complaints i have heard about this mb was most likely not the mb but rather related to other hardware they used with this mb. i believe really need to understand hardware to get the full potential of this mb when using low wattage hardware with it. of course ASUS has awesome technical support, which is another reason (other than their high performance and quality) why i buy a a lot of ASUS products. ... show more

  • If you have never built a computer or set up a mining rig you might be better off with something much simpler
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
I rarely leave reviews but I have to say this product warranted one. If you have never built a computer or set up a mining rig you might be better off with something much simpler. This board provides no technical installation comfort whatsoever. No post code displays, no speaker for beep post codes, no detailed instruction manual describing pin outs or vital info. Where this product succeedes is in its function. Powered on the first time no issues. The motherboard standoff locations should be under the edge of the board near the 24 pin atx connectors as the pcb is thin and there is no support underneath when pressing the connectors in. Also as a troubleshooting tip for others. I could not get the onboard hdmi to output video initially and thought the board was defective. I instead plugged an hdmi into the graphics card plugged into the first pci port on the motherboard or the x16 pci on the motherboard and the computer came right up. If you know your way around EFI bios then setup took 5 minutes plus windows installation process. Overall great product running 13 nvidia cards. ... show more

  • Single most frustrating build- I blame this board
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
First off, there could have been some thoughtful parts included. This board is for mining, and I feel like including a pre-wired system panel connector; with pwr and hdd lights, a power and restart buttons, and a speaker. Many cases don't include speakers anymore, and if you read below you'll understand why having one would be so helpful. They didn't include the 20/5 front panel header connector that's usually typical for Asus and is even referenced in the manual. The board does not include a jumper for the RTC Pins. I was disappointed to see in the manual they just say to short the pins with something metal. Maybe the additional parts are the responsibility of the case manufacturer to provide, but my case is a glorified metal frame. This is a board for mining, and frankly the board is so finicky and unstable that providing some diagnostic lighting and sound in the box would should have been an ethical mandate if they insisted on producing and selling this product. I have QVL'd CPU and RAM, all correctly installed. Everything is seated well. I have the CPU and ATX_1 Power Connected. With no discrete GPU installed, no drive... just a wired keyboard + mouse, monitor, memory, and CPU... The board will not POST. It did at first, but as soon as I setup BIOS Options the first time and restarted the trouble began. I haven't even been able to select a boot device and try to install an OS. I didn't have any errors that first successful POST and BIOS Load, and the CPU was 21c with the board itself 19c. There are no lights on the board, so the only indication of there being power is the PSU and CPU Fans spinning. My keyboard and mouse don't receive power anymore- I tried all the USB Ports (2.0 vs 3.1). I have turned off and unplugged the system and shorted the RTC Pins, and even left the CMOS Battery out overnight. Nothing worked. I'm inclined to consider this DOA and will return/RMA. This is ridiculously frustrating and I can't imagine everything going well as I go from iGPU to iGPU + 6+ GPUs I intend to tune. Returning, and getting an ASROCK Mining Board instead. Asus should be ashamed of themselves for bringing such a shoddy product to market. I haven't been this disappointed in Asus since I was stuck RMAing a A8N32-SLI Deluxe over and over back in the day. ... show more

  • Maybe not for residential use...
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
Hey man, do you have a spare single phase 220 volt 40 amp circuit burning a hole in your pocket? Then this is the board for you. To be fair, a couple 110 twenty amp circuits will do, but it's a bit of a house of cards with only 13 GPUs aboard. It actually works well once you get logistics figured out, but it's really tough to get even two PSUs close enough to both the cards and the mobo to make it work. But it's fun once it's running! For reference, I've got 13 cards running at about 130 watts each, a 1500w primary PSU, 1250 secondary, each running to a different 20 amp breaker. If I crank them up beyond about 27 mhash, breaker pops. I'm not not sure where you'd find to run this outside of an industrial setting with 19 cards cranked up running north of 3500 watts with CPU, disk, and motherboard overheard. But fun to play with, and great quality as is typical from Asus. ... show more

  • A must for miners!
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
This is a great motherboard, super easy to setup. Only issue I have is sometimes the onboard graphics goes out after a few hours but I am sure it is something on my end. I can't wait to max this board out!
