  • Nice feature. Last thought
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
I used this board to consolidate 2 of my 6 GPU Nvidia 1060 rigs. Used 2 750W PSUs and got all 12 card recognized right away. Has been running stable for 2 days now and I don't expect any issues. For mining purposes, this is a top notch board. The only 2 gripes I have (minor) are that the board does not extend far enough to mount 3 of the standoffs so it only sits on 6 standoffs. Just be careful to support the board if you are connecting or removing the ATX power connector. The other is lack of m.2 socket but that is understandable. Since the BIOS shows the GPU connection status on boot, it is a snap to figure out problems should you lose a card or can't get one to work. It pinpoints the one right from the get-go. Nice feature. Last thought...having the option to put it in mining mode where it adjusts all the settings is great. The only other setting I change is the one to automatically switch it on on AC power loss. Makes for an easy and consistently accurate BIOS configuration. I have about 6 of these and will be buying more. ... show more

  • very good high quality and performance
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
i bought this for a mining rig build. my mining rig ran an entire year with no problems. very stable. very few reboots. no crashes. my rig is running six video cards. the software that comes with this will auto start mining software. some complaints i have heard about this mb was most likely not the mb but rather related to other hardware they used with this mb. i believe really need to understand hardware to get the full potential of this mb when using low wattage hardware with it. of course ASUS has awesome technical support, which is another reason (other than their high performance and quality) why i buy a a lot of ASUS products. ... show more

  • If you have never built a computer or set up a mining rig you might be better off with something much simpler
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
I rarely leave reviews but I have to say this product warranted one. If you have never built a computer or set up a mining rig you might be better off with something much simpler. This board provides no technical installation comfort whatsoever. No post code displays, no speaker for beep post codes, no detailed instruction manual describing pin outs or vital info. Where this product succeedes is in its function. Powered on the first time no issues. The motherboard standoff locations should be under the edge of the board near the 24 pin atx connectors as the pcb is thin and there is no support underneath when pressing the connectors in. Also as a troubleshooting tip for others. I could not get the onboard hdmi to output video initially and thought the board was defective. I instead plugged an hdmi into the graphics card plugged into the first pci port on the motherboard or the x16 pci on the motherboard and the computer came right up. If you know your way around EFI bios then setup took 5 minutes plus windows installation process. Overall great product running 13 nvidia cards. ... show more

  • It's A Good Buy for Mining Crypto Except...
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
I bought this mobo because of the price and it's ability to use 19 GPU in one board. The motherboard works great at first until I restarted the mining rig and after it has restarted, the hashing rate became very unstable. Hashing rate goes up and down continuously and no matter how many times I reboot, hash rate still unstable. I found out from other people that has this same model Asus B250 Mining Expert that they also have the same issue and the only solution to its hashing instability is to unplug the power supply and drain all power from all capacitors by holding the power button for about 15 seconds while the power supply unit is unplug, then power it back on. IT WILL BE STABLE UNTIL YOUR NEXT REBOOT so you'll have to do the same process again every time you reboot. If you have a stable gpu's and settings, then it won't be a big of an issue because maybe you'll only need to reboot (and drain power) once a week. ... show more

  • More than 4 GPU's breaks this board!
Bought 2 of these HE70 Mining Master motherboards. Wanted a spare to keep the mining up if the board ever quite. Just a couple days over 1 month this board would no longer boot with more than 4 GPU's installed. Amazon was very nice to me and took back this motherboard and gave me a refund, even though a few days over their return window. Figuring it was just a bad part on this board, I didn't order a backup. Just about 2 weeks later, the second motherboard did the identical same thing. It will still boot with only 4 GPU's but no more than that. I bought this motherboard to eventually have 20 GPU's on it. Now what? ASUS you need to not release product not fully tested, or perhaps knowingly release what you know is going to go bad quickly. 2 for 2 is good odds that this is a known issue, yet ASUS tech people haven't a clue, or act like they don't anyway. Really upsetting. Need to try something else now, but what? Not good. EDIT- Got it fixed! Changing my rating as ASUS came out with a second update since I bought these boards. The update fixed this issue, which was totally unfixable before I did this update. Kudos to Asus!!! I guess it's just the idea of losing 2 identical boards in 2 weeks to the same issue. Sort of bummed me out I guess. Going from * star to **** stars now. Edit -- 9 Months later. This motherboard has glitches which according to Asus is because I am not using actual mining GPUs. Might be, but I sort of doubt it. Most GPU's it will run is 14. It's not happy with 14 however and one GPU will drop off and force a reboot. The reboot will not find the lost GPU however and to get that GPU found, you must do a full shutdown, unplug the USB to that specific GPU, reboot, let windows fully stabilize and then do a full shutdown again, plug the GPU's USB connector back in, reboot, and check device manager to make sure windows found it. If it has, start your miners and it will work for a day, week maybe even a month, but it will drop the GPU at some point, and you will have to do this routine again. Very likely Windows 10 is the root cause of this problem to some extent, but not the limit of 14 GPU's. There simply isn't anyway to get BIOS to see more then 14. Put another GPU in and it will never even post. Run 13 GPUs and you are home free. But, 13 isn't 20, so Asus should man up and say it's only good for 13 GPUs. They no longer make this board. No wonder, it has never worked as it was suppose to for anyone. ... show more

  • Working as it should.
Style: B250 MINING EXPERT
Running five 5700XTs currently no problem. Love the support for three power supplies. Initial boot showing which which slots are populated and working is a nice touch. Been running it for a couple of days with no issues. Would buy again.
