so i bought a ax5700 modem (with aimesh 2 nodes so its a solid ax connection all thru the house) and thought might as well get an ax3000 wireless card also as both the current router i just bought is having many issues and a huge slowdown of the wireless adapter i was using (high pings and speeds all over the place). install was simple and fast with no issues. but decided to get the one without the heatsink or external adapter. learn from my mistake and pay for the version with the external antenna w/ magnetic base. honestly the 160 mhz is unusable and this is a common issue per the support websites for all of these intel ax200 cards. i am 5 feet away from the router thru a wall and the wide band 160 mhz isnt stable and goes from 2402 to 2 mbps in seconds even with after market external antenna. if i use the 80 mhz band i get a rock solid 1201 mbps. it works... but not at the high end with the speeds like it suggests. the bluetooth works without issue but i dont like that u have to run the usb cable to make it work (not mentioned on the website or box and all of my my motherboard connecters are used). its a recommended if u need a card for ax but if its an upgrade to an existing working ac card just wait. 5/19/21 *** update *** There have been multiple intel driver updates that have greatly improved the 160mhz band & bluetooth stability and performance. I can now recommend this card and updated my rating for all looking for AX 2402 mbps coverage & speeds. ... show more

I needed to purchase a wf-fi card since my ASUS motherboard did not have bluetooth and wifi built in. I first purchased another supposedly great ASUS wi-fi card but that did not include bluetooth, nor did it work well at all after a few weeks. I found this card which was cheaper, was supposedly more up to date, had bluetooth capacity built in and had more recent drivers and went with this. 1. Set-up?: This is relatively easy, though I recommend you download the driver beforehand and have it ready to go (CD provided BTW). This isa plug in card, but you knew that already. It does require a USB connector for the bluetooth connector on the motherboard. If you don't have that, bluetooth will not work. Once the card is in place, you can use either the card connectors and put the antenna (two) onto the back of the PC or use the cables and use the base unit with the two antennas and place this on the pc as the base unit has a magnet to keep it in place. 2. Use?: I have found this to be very good and stable. For some reason my speed is not what I had received from the direct ethernet, but that may also be a issue with my router rather than this product. However, the connection is quite stable. Very rarely, when gaming through a server I have lost the connection, but that is exceedingly rare. Otherwise I have had no issues whatsoever in other applications. Overall?: This is a really good product. I don't know why the other ASUS wi-fi card is more expensive and has an older wi-fi card, but that started failing for some reason after weeks. This has not given me a single real problem. So I judge this as being really good. ... show more

Very simple plug and play, very easy to download drivers. Make sure you have an open USB 2.0 header on your motherboard so you can use the Bluetooth functionality. Boosted my speeds from 25MB/s up to 60MB/s! (Megabytes not megabits)

WiFi The provided magnetic base is the only way to get signal, there’s no additional antennas to install directly to the card. This wasn’t a big issue for me but I do wish the length of the cord was more than ~4ft. Another reviewer mentioned the antennas on the base can’t be removed, that looks right, too afraid to break mine. The WiFi signal is AMAZING. Far corner next to walls and heavy wood desk, router across the house, no problem for this. My original Asus usb WiFi wouldn’t drop signal and have horrible download speeds. Bluetooth I wish the card would provide power without having to run a cable to an internal motherboard header, but that could be the limitations of the pcie slot. My motherboard didn’t have any open internal usb ports but buying a cable adapter (9pin to USB type a) and having it plug to an open usb 2.0 slot made it work without hassle. I can’t really tell any difference compared to having a tiny Asus Bluetooth dongle… Would recommend this card! ... show more
