Top Amazon Reviews

  • Buy two!
Color: Yellow
They should give a good offer on two of these, and here’s why: I read reviews carefully before deciding on a purchase. I also try to determine if the writer might have trouble understanding and/or following instructions. The one problem I noticed most often in the one-star reviews was that the users failed to follow directions. First, you need to keep your motor running while using this device. If you try to use this off the car battery alone, you will risk draining your battery or blowing a fuse. Second, do not try to pump up all four tires at once. These devices run hot. Even the hose was very hot to the touch. So, I purchased two of these machines that would allow me to pump up tires to my 2006 Dodge Caravan alternatively. While I’m pumping one tire, the other device is cooling off. I made certain to touch every part of the machine for a temp check, before reusing it. I guarantee that if I had only purchased one tire pump, and used that pump to fill each tire consecutively and immediately, I would’ve blown out the machine. It begins running hot on one tire. So, with one machine, I would’ve been forced to wait ten minutes between each filling, or risk losing the machine, altogether. Buying two pumps is more expensive, but if I pumped each tire without a cool-off period, I would’ve been forced to buy two anyway, right? AND I would’ve lost one machine in the process…AND I would’ve had to wait a few days for delivery, instead of the recommended ten minutes for cooldown. So by buying two of these, and alternating their uses, one can be cooling down while the other is being used. Easy peasy, bumble beesy! Now, another complaint was the automatic shutoff. Personally, I set it above the recommended PSI level to make up for any air lost during hose removal. So if it says “44 psi”, I set it for “45 psi”. Then I watched the dial as the number climbed. As soon as it reached the number I selected, I shut off the machine. I’m not sure why someone would want to depend on the automativ shut-off to complete the task. The automatic shut off is not intended to be a feature of luxury; it is simply a safety feature, in case the user became distracted. The tire pump, like most machines, should never be left alone to complete a job. In all reality, the tire pump should not require ASO; but the manufacturer included it to compensate for unexpected distractions. So does my ASO feature work? I have no idea, and I don’t care. Because when I run the pump, my total and complete focus is on the pump. If a distraction occurs, I am prepared to turn off the machine so I can deal with the emergency at hand. Machines are not built for the multitaskers. Do I recommend this? I have nothing else to compare it with. I will say the numbers climbed in increments of .05 psi (21.0…21.5…22.0…22.5…23.0…23.5…etc). So the pressure climbed .5 in 6-9 seconds (ie., climbing from, say, 31.0 to 31.5 took anywhere from 6 seconds to 10 seconds, but the average time was 7 seconds). So for a tire to begin 20.0 and inflate to 45 psi (my vehicle was sitting for two years), it took no longer than 10 minutes a tire, and I’m being generous. And it would’ve taken twice as long if I had only purchased one pump. I love this machine. Have you tried filling your tires at Wawa, lately? They’ve cut off all their pumps! Other stations require insertion of coins (who carries around coins, these days?). We are either driving around, trying to find a decent air pump (while driving on low tires, mind you), or waiting in long lines to use the only working pump in town. It’s so much more convenient to fill my tires with two air pumps that I don’t have to wait to use. Once my tires are filled, I can keep one pump in each car, in case a tire gets low. I should not have to fill all four tires while on the road. But if I do, I’ll just have to wait ten minutes as the instructions suggest. This is one if the wisest purchasing decisions I’ve made recently. They also arrived supplied with alternative nozzles for bikes and sports equipment. I’m not sure if I’ll use the air pump for balls and bicycle tires, but it’s good to know I have options. I was not paid or coerced into writing this review. ... show more

  • AstroAI Portable Air Compressor: The All-in-One Inflation Solution
Color: Yellow
As someone who’s faced a range of roadside emergencies and last-minute DIY tasks, the AstroAI Portable Air Compressor has been nothing short of a revelation. It has served me admirably through fluctuating weather conditions, from blistering heat to freezing cold, all without showing signs of wear and tear. LED Emergency Light: A Dark Horse Feature Initially, I didn’t pay much attention to the emergency LED light, but its usefulness became apparent in real-world situations. Not only does it come in handy during nighttime tire changes, but it’s also versatile enough for various other tasks—like searching for dropped keys in the dark. The LED is bright and casts sufficient light to complete any task with ease. Pros: 1. Versatile Functionality: Whether it’s car tires, basketballs, or pool floats, this device can inflate it all. It’s like having a portable inflation station at your fingertips. 2. User-Friendly Interface: Its digital gauge is easy to read, and the controls are intuitive. Even if you’re not tech-savvy, operating this device is a breeze. 3. Portability: Its compact design makes it easy to store in a car trunk, and the lightweight nature ensures that you can carry it around without any hassle. The added carrying case is a thoughtful touch. 4. Reliability: Over months of use, the AstroAI has delivered consistent performance with no discernable degradation in quality. 5. Emergency LED Light: This underappreciated feature elevates the device from being merely practical to incredibly versatile in emergencies. The Noise Factor In the interest of providing a balanced review, I must mention the noise level. While the AstroAI is quieter than most competitors, the noise can still be distracting. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but a quieter operation would be the cherry on top. Comparisons with Other Products: I’ve tried multiple portable air compressors over the years, including the EPAuto 12V DC and the VIAIR 85P. Each had its merits, but the AstroAI model trumps them in virtually every aspect, from speed of inflation and ease of use to added features like the emergency LED light. It’s a comprehensive package that offers unbeatable value for money. Real-World Usage: From inflating car tires in my garage to pumping up water floaties at lakeside get-togethers, I’ve put this compressor to the test in a variety of settings. It’s been a consistent performer, proving its worth time and again. Versatility and Attachments: The device comes with multiple nozzles, increasing its utility across a range of applications. I’ve used it to inflate not just car tires but also bicycle tires, air mattresses, and even a beach ball. The versatility is nothing short of impressive. Longevity and Warranty: A one-year warranty offers peace of mind, but given its performance so far, I highly doubt I’ll need to cash in on that. The build quality—sturdy, yet lightweight—suggests that this tire inflator will serve me well for years to come. Safety Features: The auto-shutoff feature is especially beneficial for those less experienced in tire maintenance. Just set your desired PSI level, and the device will turn off once that’s reached, avoiding any over-inflation issues. Environmental Impact: It’s worth noting that the AstroAI air compressor is energy-efficient, meaning it won’t put too much strain on your car battery—a small but significant step towards sustainability. Conclusion: To sum it up, the AstroAI Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor is a top-tier product that punches well above its weight. With a broad range of applications, robust build quality, intuitive design, and added emergency features, this inflator deserves nothing less than a 5-star rating. If you’re searching for a portable air compressor, your quest should start and end with this remarkable product from AstroAI. ... show more

  • Does the job, super easy to use!
Color: Yellow
I read over the reviews before deciding on this purchase. I had an old school version of this that you couldn't set the pressure automatically on and it also took FOREVER to fill up your tire. This little guy was super easy to use and set up. Plug it in, set the pressure, turn it on and wait for it to self shut off, that simple! It does get hot and needs to cool down in between use (as it says in the manual). I would seriously tell anyone who wants to buy this to read the manual first and take it seriously. I know most people will just set the manual aside and think "it is easy to use why need a manual", but you really should read this one. There are several key items regarding setting the pressure as well as the prevention of overheating the machine. This not meant to be used to just fill all your tires daily, let alone back to back. This is for road side assistance and/or when you just lost a bit of pressure and don't want to go to a mechanic shop so to speak. Perhaps you have a slow leak you just need to get by until you can get a new tire, we have all been there. But this machine will get hot, even to the touch. ... show more
