I purchased this to test whether my grounding mat was actually working, and in terms of functionality, it does what it’s supposed to do. I was able to confirm that my mat is grounded. However, I ran into a few usability issues that are worth mentioning for anyone considering this, especially if you’re not familiar with electrical tools. The wires are not long enough to easily connect to the grounding port without lifting the device up. In my case, the outlet is positioned much higher than normal, which made it impossible to keep the tester flat on the bed while connected. Because of that, I couldn’t touch the mat properly while it was hanging between the outlet and the bed, which affected the measurement setup. To get a usable reading, I had to touch the mat with my foot instead, which worked, but wasn’t ideal. Another challenge was the instructions. They were not very beginner-friendly. I’m not an electrical tech person, so I had to watch YouTube videos and read online guides to fully understand how to use the tester correctly. Pros: Confirms whether a grounding mat is working Once set up correctly, it provides accurate results Useful tool for grounding verification Cons: Wires are too short for some outlet setups Difficult to use if outlets are positioned high Instructions are not clear for beginners Who this is best for: People who already have basic electrical knowledge or a standard, low outlet setup. Beginners may need additional guidance. Overall: The product works and serves its purpose, but longer cords and clearer instructions would greatly improve the experience especially for first-time users.

Great for an inexpensive, reliable back-up meter. I keep my large, full-featured DMM in my basement workshop, but often have a need to use it upstairs for simple tasks like measuring battery voltage, checking for continuity, etc. Buying this small meter for the upstairs eliminates trips to the basement, and it does everything I need it to do for simple tasks.

I bought this primarily for my wife and me to test batteries. We are not electricians. What I like is that the meter tells you in English whether the battery is good or bad. So you don't have to interpret numerical screens to figure this out. Easy for the non-electrician! Of course, it does all the other stuff too, like testing for voltage/current. The MANUAL that comes with the unit is excellent: unlike other meters for the electrically savvy, this one explains everything in plain English. Ease of use and price earn my recommendation.

I'm no electrical engineer but for my hobbiest use cases, this was a good purchase. From checking battery voltages to troubleshooting current path in a circuit, it was such a huge help for me with accurate-enough readings. The display is good and even has a timed backlight. If this meter is properly turned off, one battery can help it last for a couple years. The only thing I didn't like would be the kickstand at the back. Since there really isn't any proper rubber on this collapsable stand, it tends to slip on a smooth surface.
