I start this review by saying I have been a very happy user of the Astro A50 wireless headset for a while. I was in search of a new wired headset that was compatible with capturing game chat audio from my Xbox series X through an el gato capture card. I decided to get the A40 as I loved its wireless counterpart without even reading reviews as I already knew the great quality of the Astro A50. Man was I wrong!!! I received my first box, opened it up and was impressed with the premium look and feel, the setup was easy as I was already familiar with Astro Command Center, I go to do the required firmware update and the device will not receive the update; just keeps giving an error message. So I take to YouTube videos, Reddit forums and Discords for work arounds; none of which worked. Come to find out this had been a massive problem for over THREE YEARS!!!!! Next day I call their tech support and I am given several attempts at solutions and all fail, I am instructed to return the device as they have “a bad batch of mix amps”. I received my replacement today and the same exact issue has happened. Extremely displeased, I do not know how this company has let the same issue persist for more than three years without recalling all devices or patching their firmware to push a download. Fingers are crossed that the next unit will work, but just know I am not expecting it to. Do better Astro Gaming ... show more

If you can get them on sale, or have the money when they’re full price, buy them! They’re 100% worth it, very comfortable, sound quality is there, and the astro command center is annoying but there’s a lot of tunability with them! Sound quality is amazing, I play a lot of siege and fallout, they get nice and crisp for the slight sounds of siege and sound super nice in the post apocalyptic fallout world! ... show more

the first one was dead. I order it's replacements and it is fantastic. It looked new. The controller came in a large Astro system. The packing was very nice. Most I have ordered the headset is just laying in the shipping box with bubble wrap. This is a very good Tr40. Nice price.
