VR workouts are my go-to thing. I've spent many hours on various orienting mats, but this one is a new experience. For starters, it's square instead of round. Not a huge practical difference, but it allows a much wider stance on diagonals than the 41-inch circular mats do, which can be useful for deep lunges. Next up, it's thinner and softer than other mats. It is definitely the most comfortable VR mat my feet have ever experienced, almost pillow-soft. I tried it on hard floor and on outdoor carpet, it was wonderful either way. Lastly, the orientation markings and features help me find and stay on the center of the mat better than any other mat I've used. I like the raised edges in particular, and the non-slip backing is a definite plus. I don't think I would recommend using this mat without wearing socks. The polyester jersey top fabric sticks to bare feet just enough to throw off normal movement cadence during rhythmic exercises, and can be a distraction. I have no idea how well this mat will wear over time, but I imagine I will be finding out, because it is now promoted to my favorite, and I will be giving it a lot of use with my 6-ft 230-lb frame. Fun times ahead!

This VR mat is marketed as anti fatigue, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it feels that way. It’s definitely more comfortable than standing on a hard floor. The two holes and the raised border provide a tactile feedback, allowing you to sense your position on the mat without having to look down. There’s a material that feels like a sticky silicone near the center, which helps you gauge your location while gaming. However, I find it a bit too sticky on the soles of my feet. It might wear off over time, but for now, it’s causing my feet to stick to the mat, which can be a bit distracting. The bottom of the mat adheres well to our carpet, but it occasionally slides on the hardwood floor. To prevent this, I might need to add some grips to the bottom to keep it in place.

This mat has a horrendous smell coming from it. I put in the basement and the entire room smells. I may have to put it outside. I may return it, what kind of material is this made from that the odor is this bad. I have not even used it yet. I did stand on it sort of seeing if it will work, and it may, but no way to use it yet with that smell. It has been two days and it is still bad.

Even though we have virtual barriers inside VR it is not to have tactile cues. And this is exactly what this mat does. The thicker edge gives you the feedback that you are about to leave the "zone" There is a big triangle at the front of the mat, that lets you feel for which way is forward. The hole in the center, does just that, keeps you centered. And even the other little hole helps with orientation of the mat. I initially just tested it by closing my eyes and walking around on it, and I immediately knew where I was, which way I was facing, and didn't end up bumping into anything like furniture or walls. The backing has a grippy surface that keeps it in place you are not sliding around, and overall it makes the whole experience of VR better, as it keeps you safe, as well is very comfortable to walk on. It does feel super thick and soft!!!

This mat is huge! It covers a large area for game playing. It's very comfortable under my feet and is sturdy. It doesn't slide or slip around. I can feel the boundary with my feet and no problems with tripping, falling, or knocking into things around me. It's great for any VR gamer.

Make sure you have the space for it. I thought it was gonna be smaller, this thing is huge. Definitely helps with the play space, and relieves some stress on your feet while standing in VR for a long time.

I had my son test this since he has a VR headset also and hardwood floors. This is what he had to say: It seems this is geared more towards someone who has trouble orienting themselves in the real world while in a virtual environment. The mat is very thin and provides little to no support on hardwood floors. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are seeking comfort.

Paranoid that I am going to hit a wall , TV ETC. You can feel the mat under your feet even with shoes. BTW the mat if SOFT and feels great. I have wood floors ( or what it is they make these days). So much better on my feet. Now I can play hitman without worrying I am going to punch my TV. Recommend
