Far, faaaaar too slippery on laminate flooring. Dangerously so, especially if you play things like Supernatural and need to do lunges.

Probably the best mat out there. It does help with the cushioning, but I wish it was thicker. The neoprene idea is good as it doesn't stick to bare feet (but the printing in the center does a little.) I really would like more detail I could feel either on top or underneath that would help to stay oriented. With this mat, all I can feel are the center holes and the edges. With intense games, it's not quite enough. And I would still like one that's a bit bigger.

Having a mat to stand on while playing VR is not necessary, but it does add to the ease and makes the overall experience more comfortable. We replaced a simple door mat with this mat and it has been great. This mat is padded very well so it is comfortable under our feet. It is easy to pivot and move around on this padded mat. It is great having the center hole, pivot hole and arrow to keep oriented during play. These features along with the edges of the mat, keep you oriented better and keeps the boundary grid lines from popping up during play which can be annoying. The mat is also very sleek looking. It can also be easily rolled up and put out of the way when not in use. We have used this mat outdoors in pavement and it works great there as well and does not get dirty or worn.

VR workouts are my go-to thing. I've spent many hours on various orienting mats, but this one is a new experience. For starters, it's square instead of round. Not a huge practical difference, but it allows a much wider stance on diagonals than the 41-inch circular mats do, which can be useful for deep lunges. Next up, it's thinner and softer than other mats. It is definitely the most comfortable VR mat my feet have ever experienced, almost pillow-soft. I tried it on hard floor and on outdoor carpet, it was wonderful either way. Lastly, the orientation markings and features help me find and stay on the center of the mat better than any other mat I've used. I like the raised edges in particular, and the non-slip backing is a definite plus. I don't think I would recommend using this mat without wearing socks. The polyester jersey top fabric sticks to bare feet just enough to throw off normal movement cadence during rhythmic exercises, and can be a distraction. I have no idea how well this mat will wear over time, but I imagine I will be finding out, because it is now promoted to my favorite, and I will be giving it a lot of use with my 6-ft 230-lb frame. Fun times ahead!

Even though we have virtual barriers inside VR it is not to have tactile cues. And this is exactly what this mat does. The thicker edge gives you the feedback that you are about to leave the "zone" There is a big triangle at the front of the mat, that lets you feel for which way is forward. The hole in the center, does just that, keeps you centered. And even the other little hole helps with orientation of the mat. I initially just tested it by closing my eyes and walking around on it, and I immediately knew where I was, which way I was facing, and didn't end up bumping into anything like furniture or walls. The backing has a grippy surface that keeps it in place you are not sliding around, and overall it makes the whole experience of VR better, as it keeps you safe, as well is very comfortable to walk on. It does feel super thick and soft!!!
