I have two fitted sheets that are VERY heavy cotton - very thick and sturdy. I've been looking for cotton of that quality, since they are both just a *tiny* bit too small for my bed once I put the memory foam topper on it, and tend to pull off at the corners. I decided to give Boston Linen Co a try (in part because I like their approach to packaging etc). Right out of the package, the sheets were silky smooth - which was actually almost a negative for me; I associate that type of smoothness with light, flimsy sheets. But happily the sheets were definitely not light or flimsy, so that was a relief. Upon their first washing, that 'silky smooth'ness went away to a large extent; they now feel more like the way I like my sheets to feel. The fit for the fitted sheet is PERFECT, for which I'm so grateful. I have a chronic pain condition and trying to wrestle the mattress/fitted sheet to get it to fit is a constant nightmare, but I do like the fitted sheet to fit snugly so it doesn't crinkle up underneath me while I'm sleeping. The fitted sheet (on my 12" reversible pillowtop mattress + 3" memory foam topper) is absolute perfection. It goes on easily but snugly and there's no loose fabric twisting around under me. The elastic feels substantial and reliable, too - I have a few fitted sheets where the elastic is just a whisper, but in these sheets, it's got a good strong (but not too tight) grip. The fit for the flat sheet is... less perfect, but that's mostly on me. I have to sleep with an elevation device under my legs, AND I like the bottom of the flat sheet to be tucked in tightly, AND I like the top of the flat sheet to reach up to my face. As with most standard length queen sheets, that's... not really possible. The elevation device adds several inches of height, so the top sheet has to either be barely tucked in at the foot of the bed, or it barely reaches my shoulders. (I actually prefer to buy separate pieces for this reason - a queen-size fitted sheet with a king-size flat sheet is the perfect solution for me, but as far as I can see it's not an option from this company.) I had also hoped the sheets would feel a bit more substantial - a bit heavier. I selected the highest thread-count hoping to get that solid, sturdy, weighty feeling, but apparently 500TC isn't quite enough. They do wrinkle a bit in the dryer, but honestly, just throw a damp towel in there, let it tumble on cool to medium for 10 minutes, take them out and put them straight on the bed or fold them right away, and you're fine. Sheets are going to get wrinkled as soon as you sleep on them anyway. For someone with slightly lower expectations/less particular preferences, these would easily be 5-star sheets. For me they're very nice, but not quite "amazing." I'll be keeping an eye to see if they go on sale, and if the company starts offering separate pieces - I'd be happy to buy again in either of those cases. To be honest, I tried another Amazon sheet company before these. I was skeptical on Boston Linen Co sheets because of all the 5 star reviews and only one 3 star review. Usually that means people are paid to write reviews for a company writing in with the best reviews possible as they receive some goods or services in return for the great review. Boy, was I wrong about my review theory! The Boston Linen Co delivered on being 100% cotton and not a blend like some of the other's. The 1st company lied all the way to the consumer about being 100% Cotton sheets. No so with the Boston Linen Co. These sheets are very soft combed 100% cotton to the touch....and that was before I washed them! The flat sheet is plenty long enough and wide to cover my King size mattress. The fitted sheet has lots of room to fit my deep pockets, plus the triple set of mattress padding I have on top of my mattress. The pillow cases for a king are actually longer than what I use but the Boston Linen Co is very generous with what they give their customers. The finish has a nice sateen look, so you know you are getting what was advertised. The finishing on the stitching is impeccable. I washed in warm water and dried on permanent press. They came out great. I made the bed up as fast as I could and tried them. Wow! These 400 Thread Count sheets are the quality and comfort of a 5 star hotel. I bet they will get a bit softer through continued washes but even if they stay they way they are today, I am thrilled with my new sheets! It is really hard to find great sheets nowadays that are the real deal. My quest for quality sheets over the years has been a tough one, since about 2005. Company's use more bait and switch terminology when they advertise their products. Soft as Cotton, Cotton Rich( a blend with 100% cotton used with another fabric), 600 and up thread count's on a microfiber and/or cotton sheets. The highest thread count per square inch is only 500 TC. Otherwise, you can't sew that amount of thread into a square inch. These sheets from Boston Linen Co are not a blend nor do they say the TC is more than what is possible. Again, the Boston Linen Co delivers on quality and reputable advertising! I am picky about sheets. My favorites ones are all cotton and high thread count. The problem with those is that they then to cost over $100/set, and are so thick that they need many washes before softening up. Also they tend to shrink and become very difficult to squeeze my mattress into. These sheets are 500 thread count and felt great to me right out of the package. They fit my mattress so well that they are a little too loose. Maybe they will shrink just enough when I wash them. My one concern about these is that they are not thick like other high thread count sheets i've had. That could be why they are soft right out of the package. It might mean that they will wear quickly. But for $40 a set, for 100% cotton sateen 500 thread count, I don't care that much. ... show more

These are thick and substantial sheets but are sized very small for the top sheet. They are very wrinkly and need to be ironed but the worst part is the top sheet is just too small.

Best sheets I have ever owned. This will be my third set over the years. The customer service is some of the best I've encountered. Had a small issue years ago and it was resolved beyond belief so they have me for life! Best night sleep EVER is on Boston Linen Company sheets.
