I ordered this knife set because it promised to be sharp, durable, and high quality. To be honest, if I added up the cost of all the knife sets I've purchased over the years, I probably could have bought a premium set like this much sooner. I usually try to stay within a budget and look for affordable options, but sometimes the less expensive choices end up costing more in the long run when they don't perform well and need to be replaced. I enjoy cooking when I have energy even though I'm not someone who spends all day in the kitchen. Still, having a good set of knives is important, especially these days when cooking at home has become more practical and economical. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how incredibly sharp these knives were right out of the package. I've purchased brand-new knives before that weren't nearly this sharp. I was very careful handling them because they truly arrived with a professional-level edge. One of my favorite tests was slicing onions. I love cooking with onions, and I often use special slicers when I want very thin cuts. With these knives, I was able to make clean, thin slices much more easily than with many of my previous knife sets. The blades glide through food with very little effort. What impressed me most is that these knives are not just attractive—they actually perform as well as they look. The set has a very elegant appearance and looks beautiful on the countertop. In the past, I've owned knife blocks that had extra storage features that I liked, but this set has such a refined and professional look that I don't mind the simpler design at all. In fact, it has become one of the nicest-looking kitchen accessories I own. Another feature I appreciate is the built-in sharpener. Having it integrated into the block makes maintenance much more convenient. That said, use caution when handling these knives because they are genuinely very sharp. As for the price, some people may consider this set expensive. However, my experience has taught me that buying several inexpensive knife sets that don't last or don't perform well can end up costing more over time. This set feels like a worthwhile investment for anyone who cooks regularly or simply wants reliable kitchen tools. I can't speak to the long-term durability yet since I haven't owned them for years, but my first impression has been extremely positive. The quality, sharpness, appearance, and overall performance have exceeded my expectations. Based on what I've seen so far, I would definitely recommend this knife set and feel that it is worth the price.

This complete knife set has a one-piece stainless-steel construction, meaning from one piece the handle to the tip of the blade. These knives have an ergonomic anti-slip handle providing a comfortable, secure grip and balanced control. This shape and grip help reduce hand fatigue while cutting, slicing, and preparing foods to cook or serve. I like that the knives were individually wrapped and in sleeves for safety. The 15-piece set comes with 8" chef knife for chopping, 8" bread knife for loaves or bagels, 8" slicing knife for meat, 7" santoku knife for vegetables, 5" utility knife, 3.5" paring knife, 6 steak knives for dining, kitchen shears, and a wooden block with built-in sharpener for display and storage. I immediately tested the santoku knife on a tomato, and the razor-sharp blade sliced the tomato by just pulling it across the tomato with no sawing. These quality knives are rust-resistant and dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning. Considering how sharp they are out of the box, if I decide to clean them in the dishwasher, I will use the third upper cutlery rack to isolate them from other things in the dishwasher. However, I prefer hand washing and drying for best long-term performance. I like that the wooden block is sturdy and balanced and also has the convenient built-in sharpener to help maintain the blade edge and keep knives ready for everyday use. Just a couple of pulls through the sharpener and that much needed edge is ready for use. For the design, sharpness, attractiveness, and durability, I highly recommend this knife set.

Fifteen pieces and not one of them feels like filler, which honestly threw me off because that's not how knife sets usually go. You get the obligatory chef's knife and then six mystery blades that exist purely to pad the box count. Not here. Chef knife, bread knife, slicing knife, santoku, utility, paring, six steak knives, shears, and a block with a built-in sharpener doing all the heavy lifting so I don't have to own a separate sharpening stone I'd use twice a year. The steel itself looks expensive in a way that's hard to fake. Brushed finish, clean edge, no flimsy stamped feel when you flip it in your hand. First cut through a tomato and it went through like the tomato owed it money, no sawing, no squishing. Walnut block sits on the counter looking like it cost way more than it did, which is the best kind of flex. Dishwasher safe too, though I hand wash because I'm irrationally protective of it now. For the price, this set is doing the job of knives twice as expensive, and my home kitchen suddenly looks like it belongs to someone who knows what a santoku is for. Pros Sharp out of the box, full range of blades for actual cooking not just display, built-in sharpener is genuinely useful, block looks upscale, dishwasher safe Cons Steak knives are nice but six is more than most people need, block takes up real counter space

I ordered this 15-piece Astercook knife set as a gift, and I have to admit, I was tempted to keep it for myself. The midnight black block gives it a sleek, modern look that would fit well with just about any kitchen décor. At around $65, it looks far more expensive than it is, making it an excellent value for a complete knife set. The knives arrived extremely sharp, so use caution when removing them from the packaging. I really like the balance and weight of these knives. They feel substantial in your hand without being overly heavy, and they definitely don’t have that lightweight, inexpensive feel that some budget knife sets have. One detail I especially appreciated is that the blade is labeled with the type of knife, such as chef’s knife or slicing knife. That may seem like a small thing, but it’s very helpful if you’re not always sure which knife is intended for which task. This set includes virtually every knife most home cooks will need, making it a great option for someone setting up a first home, apartment, or wedding registry. The built-in sharpener is a nice bonus, and the overall presentation is attractive enough for gifting. If properly cared for, I believe this set will provide years of service. For the combination of appearance, functionality, and price, this one earns a solid five stars from me.

I don't know what it is, but I don't like the texture of the handles. They feel unpolished, almost powdery like but it isn't unpolished or powdery. These are a nice set to have on hand. I wish the branding wasn't so obvious as it's not like a sleek looking brand design.

This Astercook 15 Piece Knife Set comes with 6 steak knives, chef's knife, bread knife, santoku vegetable knife, utility knife, pairing knife, kitchen shears, and a wooden block base with a built in knife sharpener. The knives came plenty sharp already and the set looks nice and neat all together in the holding block. To me, the best thing about this set, outside of the sharpener in the block, is that each knife is one piece of stainless steel, so there are no seams near the handle where germs or food particles can hide and grow bacteria. There will never be loose handles or worrying that one of the knives will fall apart as I am using it. If you have ever had the back of a knife break through its handle as you were using it and cut into your hand, you understand why this means so much. Using the santoku knife, I tried the "thinly slicing a tomato" test to see how sharp the knives came and it sliced through the tomato with very little pressure at all. It was hard not to get excited as I unboxed this knife set because, in the world of knives, the set is actually quite beautiful. I washed up each knife with care, dried them off and proudly displayed them on my counter. It is a feeling of satisfaction, like this knife set will make my culinary skills borderline professional now. Top Chef, here I come!

This is an excellent set of kitchen knives for your home or as a gift. The first thing really impressed me was that the knives are all one piece of stainless steel. Usually knife blades and handles are made separately and then inserted into one another and held in place with rivets. These knives appear as one continuous piece of metal with no ridge to collect food debris, and connection areas to come apart. There is a smooth transition from the blade to the handle and the handles have a satin finish on them which makes them elegant looking. The block (we have the black) is made of a very heavy wood and sets firmly on the counter. The serrated edge on the six steak knives went thru our medium rare and well done cooked meats without issues. Preparing the meat prior to cooking was a breeze using the 8" chef knife. The blade is sharp and cuts raw meat cleanly without any difficulty. What really impressed us was the bread knife going thru freshly baked, still warm, bread without tearing the slices apart. The last knife we have used so far was the 3.5" paring knife. The shape is comfortable in the hand and pared potatoes and apples with ease. The set even includes a pair of kitchen shears.
