My Unraid server needed an upgrade and I had some specific requirements like as many sata3 (6gb) ports as I could get, support for 14th gen intel cpu, support for ddr5 ram, support for at least 3 - m.2 nvme's. This board met all those requirements. Mounting in my Antec P101S case was breeze, it even has onboard usb3.2 ports that link to the front of the case. Installation of all m.2 hardware was a breeze, even comes with supplied heat spreaders. The user manual and firmwares available online were easy to find and very descriptive. The bios update went flawlessly, I can boot from USB (great graphical interface in the bios too). I now have my unraid server set up with 8 sata drives, 3 m.2 nvme's (one of which runs at gen5x4 speeds - 12,000mb/s). Great all around. ... show more

If you are going to run with 4 memory chips, disable the AsRock Timing Optimization and Asrock DRAM Frequency Optimization or it won't be stable. By default these optimizations are enabled and ran my memory at 4800 MHz but introduced memory errors that were caught by the Windows memory diagnostic tool run in Basic mode. The Asrock optimizations set the frequency properly at 4800 Mhz but the timings were very aggressive and likely caused the memory instability. Disabling these two options, selecting the XMP1 profile, and selecting the specifications supported memory frequency of 4800 Mhz stopped these issues. If you run the board at the specs they mention, it seems stable and is a good board for the price. ... show more

So far good motherboard, nice looking performs well once you do all your due diligence or the set up could be frustrating and lead to an RMA. I'm know pro, so hope this helps some. One last thing, Install the CPU cooler of your choice from the start pre boot! Otherwise, the board will shut down due to heat before you can get anything done. Take note of the BIOS version listed of the approved QVL memory list. My board came with BIOS version 2.07. However, the compatible memory off the list I ordered was showing version 5.02 required. Could not get to post so that I could update the BIOS with the memory. Tried all the tricks and slots etc. I found a stick of memory on the list that matched the 1.08 BIOS, installed it, and it then posted. I could then update the BIOS to version 8.05. That then allowed my original 64GB of memory to then be recognized and post fine. In any event, if you are having post issues, check the fine print on the memory for Raptor Lake or Alder Lake QVL list and compatible BIOS version for your CPU and memory of choice. Also look at all the drivers listed in the MB downloads. See the pictures. If you use a SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 Internal Solid-State Drive, it will not fit under the included heatsink on the motherboard, if u want to use that slot. You have to use another slot or get an SSD without the heatsink. See picture, red circle shows the included heatsink, under which is 2 SSD slots (1 Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4), 1 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4). (You can use one or the other). Blue arrow is another slot that fits an SSD with heatsink. Posted and installed Windows 11 pro fine using this slot. ... show more

For one, its hard to see everything because its all monochrome. There are only 3 slots total, and the next board up was very expensive. The sound is terrible on this thing. I know its the old chip, but my older board had the same one. And in order to hear any noise I had to increase volume to 75%. It lacked both base and treble. For the first time in I don't know how many years I had to buy a sound card. And now that worked very well. Everything else installed fine. Its hard to read where things go. The lighting isn't that bright, it glows in odd places. And the ram doesn't sync when lit (the lights themselves). I bought this one because its super confusing which one to buy, I like gigabyte but their service and the back up bios never worked for me. And I have a model of this from the last machine. But I should have bought the better board, but I still can't justify the price tag. ... show more
