  • Working great
Very happy with the purchase. Zero problem. Durable materials. Nvme comes with a free heat spreader and 2 extra screws for it. What I like about it is that it has a red light indicator in case there's a problem with the mobo/cpu/ram/gpu. It makes troubleshooting the issue quite easy. Smoothly updated the BIOS with a USB stick that's been reformatted into MBR and the BIOS flashback button. And on one occasion I had to reset the BIOS because of a faulty uninstallation of the AMD chipset driver which made my pc unbootable. Then the 2-pin cmos jumper came in with a clutch. I didn't have to remove the cmos battery. I just grabbed a screwdriver, bridged the two pins with it to short the cmos and mentally counted for 4 seconds. Pc booted. Easy fix. Lastly, I don't know about others but this mobo with samsung 990 evo ssd boots in less than 10 seconds with or without fast boot. That's an amazing speed. The only cons I can think about is that blue front panel usb connector. Unplugging it is super tight. I feel like I'll break the mobo if I use more force. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase. Been using for a month or two and it's fully functional. ... show more

  • The best board on AM5!
This board has had many reviews on its potential as a long-term board, similar to AM4 boards from back then. You do lose some things, such as 4 dimm slots; however, that's actually good. You don't get any crazy RGB, sadly, no post-code LED, and the board might be ugly for some people. DDR5 has a big stability issue going on that Intel and AMD are trying to figure out with their motherboard manufacturers and chips. I've personally owned a i9 13900k/DDR5 8000Mt/s system and worked on other people's systems; a normal user would struggle just getting 7400 on their own, and XMP doesn't even work reliably. This includes AMD, but AMD doesn't really get much performance boost from fast RAM. You also have 2x16 ddr5, which is the "native" ram, so it's already pretty large. The two dimm slots will also let you push your RAM. AMD has pushed and is continuing to push some insane DDR5 bios improvements. I am able to hit 8000 MHz ram on this board so far; it is not exactly stable, but by the time this review is read, it probably will be. I am using a 7800x3d, and there are many others who use a 7900x3d+ and have had no issues. You will need to touch the bios for a bit, such as PBO, and hit some numbers, but you can always check out "BuildZoid" on Youtube for help in improving some performance. Overall, this is a great budget board but also a great board to push some limits as AMD improves their stability systems. For boot times, many people who are using standard 6000 Mt/s RAM will probably boot up to 20 seconds, especially on the recent bios. Also, if you cannot flash bios, please use the flashback bios method! It will properly update your BIOS instead of just rebooting and not working. Unless you are benching for cool numbers, buying 6000 cl30 or so ram will be the best perf per dollar you will get. ... show more

  • Great board, almost perfect.
It is basically perfect, great start up times, cool temperatures, fast nvme ports, post lights, good ram compatibility, nice expo support, nice anesthetics, port for wifi card, decent usb number although i would have liked more and a good price. Only inconvenience is it has no rgb ports, it is not a problem for me but it is annoying. ... show more

  • Good board for the money
I purchased this motherboard as a replacement for an asus board that had died on me and so far it's running pretty good. I paired it with a ryzen 7 9700x and it handles that cpu well. I've had no issues with the board. In terms of value I do feel like asrock put the budget for this board in the right places. You get a good vrm heatsink , you get bios flashback, you get an interacted io shield and decent io in genreal ,Nothing out of this world but definitely good enough for a typical setup. However the board isn't perfect and there are some things a buyer should be aware of. There is no rgb header on this motherboard so if you are planning on having rgb you will need an rgb controller like the one built into my case. There is no wifi so if you need wifi you will need to buy a wifi card which I thankfully already had. The bios isn't the most feature packed or well made thing ever. Definitely not as good as the bios found in other board makers , and your only getting 2 ram slots which does limit how much ram you can put in here although I don't expect people buying a board at this price range to be loading up on ram. ... show more

  • Great overclocking potential
I have a 9800X3D with custom water and 32GB Hynix M. Handles my static OC of 5.45GHz 1.25V without any issues. Was able to drastically tighten RAM timings compared to my B650 TUF. My Hynix M kit was able to do 6400 on the TUF with my previous 7800X3D, but could only do 6200 with the 9800X3D. Swapping out to this HDV I was able to get 6400 and super tight timings with less voltage. I tried a couple kits of Hynix A at 8000 but only one posted art a maximum of 7800. I think that those kits just couldn't do 8000. I'm waiting for an EXPO 8000 kit to hit $120 before trying anymore RAM OC. ... show more

  • VRM coil whine
There is very noticeable VRM coil whine. My previous mobo didn't have that noise. I had this for over a month now and I still haven't gotten used to it. This must be how people with tinnitus always feel like. Crossing my fingers and hoping its about that time I got old enough to start losing my hearing and become unable to hear high frequency noises so I won't notice this anymore. ... show more
