  • Best all around board at this price point for looks and performance, rgb controller works fine now!
Was very happy with this board especially at this price. Pros: Looks good Works good Uefi is ok, easy to OC everything The vrm heatsinks are good, stays acceptably cool Good I/O selection (has USB type C, plenty of USB 3 Decent audio Cons: Hmmmmmmmmm.... Well first, the "polychrome" software is CRAP, but if your savvy you will eventually get it to work. But for me I finally got everything aRGB synched, the fans, the ram, the board etc, then the very next day the boards LEDS and everything synched to it wouldn't turn on. After a semi competent conversation with asrock, it seems the RGB controller itself is no longer working, so I no longer am able to sync anything and the Mobo lights just don't work. CRAP. JUST AFTER WARRANTY. If you use the lower of the two M.2 slots (the SATA one), be aware it shares it's SATA lane with SATA port #3, so you cannot plug an SSD/HDD into SATA port 3 AND have a SATA M.2 installed, it's one or the other, so if you plan to use that m.2 port you effectively lose one of the few SATA ports. Not sure if that's on all boards or what but it's kind of lame. No wifi option, I bought a good adapter and Intel WiFi/Bluetooth m.2 card, works great ($30) This is still the best looking board at this price, however the asrock quality should be a topic of consideration if you really care about the aRGB stuff. I will have a really hard time picking asrock in the future. EDIT: SO after a year, i finally decide to try asrocks ploychrome asrrgbled cant decide on name software, and guess what. Firmware updates automatically after starting up the program, and guess what happened? Go ahead, after reading my review, guess. MOBO LIGHTS! Are back on. Check out my review on the cpu cooler ive used the entire time, its the UpHere 5v argb one, you'll see my pictures there. I highly recommend that cooler and matching case fans. I give this board a bump from 3-5 stars for full functionality. It's asrocks software that should get 1 star. ... show more

  • Awesome mobo
This is an awesome motherboard. I have had mine for 3 years so I got another for my nephews first pc I built him. It has 2 m.2 slots so great for upgrades. Havnt had any problems with it. The bios is simple. Updating it was easy as well. My only gripe isn’t the mobo but the rgb polyamorous software. It is garbage. But the motherboard is great. Highly recommended for am4 ... show more

  • Was 5000 Series ready from the box!
I ordered this fully prepared with a 3200g and a fat32 thumb-drive to do a bios update and in big bold letters on the package it read "AMD RYZEN 5000 DESKTOP READY". A little skeptical from a few reviews and using prior building experience I inspected the board carefully and found the small sticker indicating bios P4.60. I am currently using it with a 5600g and have had no issues so far and feel it is a great budget option if pci gen 4 isn't a concern but will update if i come across any problems. Pros: Addressable RGB Plenty of Sata Lots of USB 3.0 Cons: Small board print (but can use the manual to double check) The I/O Cover is very tight to the rear fan in some cases The top heat sink could cause problems mounting fans/radiator for top mount aio ... show more

  • Solid Board!
I used this as a basis for my dad's workshop PC build, and it works just fine! Was a tiny bit nervous about going for a more "budget" brand, but honestly it gets the job done, and I would definitely get ASRock products again if I wanted to save a few bucks. Motherboards are one place where it's really easy to overspend on features you don't actually need. ASRock comes in clutch with more than good enough products for a reasonable price. ... show more

  • It just... works!
Very nice design and a small form factored PCB. I like the included RGB but I wish there was a way to keep the RGB off when the PC was shut down but the PSU was still on.
