  • One of the most poorly designed boards I've seen since IDE cables phased out...
Style: Motherboard
Used this to help my roommate upgrade from his Phenom II x4 810 to an FX 8320. While it worked for that, it had massive design flaws in other areas. Namely the PCI slot vs SATA positions and the locations of the chassis fan headers. Starting with the fan connectors, the cpu fan pins are properly placed, but both of the chassis fan pins are on the bottom right corner. This is fine for a front mount fan, but for the back fan, it means you either have to shell out more money for an extension cable OR you have to have an ugly AF fan cable run right across the entire front of the motherboard since you can clock the fan anyway to hide the cable, which basically negates the whole point of cable management... Second, the PCI and SATA positions (most likely the SATA slots) are VERY BLATANTLY an afterthought from those who engineered the board. You want to use a GPU? Congratulations! You can only ideally use 2 of the 4 SATA slots. You can use a third, if you have one with a 90 degree connector on one side, however that trick only works for ONE of the poorly place SATA ports AND the GPU will be putting pressure on the SATA cable / connector. See the two that get covered are clocked 180 degrees from each other BUT not in the proper way to do so. So, if you want to use 90 trick, your 90 degree bend covers the unused SATA, no matter which one it is. Should they have flipped the 180 design so the two 90 degrees run outwards of each other, but nope, it's use one or the other, or only use 2, or no GPU but get all SATA ports the board supplies. Terrible for expansion, terrible for gamers or media creators who need multiple hard drives. If you're in the market for an AM3 / AM+ board, steer clear of this one, because as my title says this board is one of the most poorly designed ones I have seen since the IDE cable days... If you're dead-set on this board, which honestly don't bother unless you have an unused FX processor laying around you want to build for your kids or something, I would recommend a SATA adaptor card thing for one of the other PCI slots and just avoid the head aches of terrible engineering. My only other complaint is RAM slot to form factor ratio. There is no reason why this board should only have 2 slots for RAM. Virtually every other Micro ATX board has 4, but not this one. The only reason I went ahead and bought it even knowing that to begin with was this was the only sub-$100 board that was available compatible with the FX eight core series and he already had the processor which was given to him by a friend. For the prices of the other boards, I might as well have bought him a Ryzen 3, an AM4 board, and some DDR4 sticks and he would have been much better off, but this is what I get for trying to save money... ... show more

  • Good e'nuff
Style: Motherboard
Pros - cheap - easy set up - easy assembly Cons - manual is little hard to read - older platform - older BIOS I had an extra FX Black and some ram left over from an old build. I picked the mobo up for a side project running a docker host with nextcloud, zimbra, mariadb and gitlab, iRedMail, etc. In some ways this a little overkill. But It's a side project and good server grade stuff is expensive and I'm not running an enterprise so, meh. This motherboard is a no frills, cheap and reliable. It has an older BIOS implementation but it's easy to configure. I'm using Debian Buster as the OS. I had no problems installing linux on this mobo. I did have a problem with getting lm-senors to detect the CPU thermal sensors. The solution is to adjust the auto-generated configuration file. Otherwise, I have had no problems using this as container host. I'm not sure about gaming. I have not really tried to put the system through any serious stress testing, and it's an old enough board that it probably won't run anything new very well. ... show more

  • excellent replacement MB
Style: Motherboard
There aren't too many options for this MB chipset around, much less at this price level. I have to say, a few months into it, I would definitely recommend this one. I have had zero issues with it. It does what it is supposed to, so I won't go on with the tech specs. That being said, I do not overclock at all. I just use it for work and some gaming. I do have the same complaint as the other with the middle PCI slot being completely covered by the card in slot 1. In my case, I have nothing there so it isn't a concern, but do be aware. ... show more

  • Funcional
Style: Motherboard
... show more

  • It Works, Full size Graphics cards WILL FIT
Style: Motherboard
It works for what I wanted and for nice and cheap, I was afraid a Graphics card wouldnt fit after reading the reveiws but, those people have obviousley never built a computer before because every card I tried fits perfectly, though snug. Currently has an R9 380 4gb on it.

  • pci-e x16 slot awkward placement
Style: Motherboard
The good: It works right out of the box, and has all the features I expect from a mATX motherboard. It's also one of the last AM3+ motherboards I could find for under 70 USD. The bad: The PCI-E x16 slot is placed "above" the PCI-E x1 slot, and too close to the SATA ports, with the result that, when you plug in a video card with its own heatsink and fans- which is the majority of video cards aimed at the "gaming" market- the heatsink and fans will block access to the PCI-E x1 slot and at least two of the SATA ports. This means that a PCI-E x1 slot WiFi card can't be plugged in, and you'll be limited to two hard drives, or one hard drive and one optical disk reader/writer (eg DVD.) ... show more
