This Ashley Electric Fireplace is a gorgeous addition to our bedroom. The assembly was fairly simple, a one-hour/one-person job, and everything lined up perfectly. The classic design is elegant, charming, and creates instant ambiance to the room. The heat option works great with remote control settings that turn off as needed. I can opt for just the lighted faux logs and embers too. The fan is not loud and does not disrupt sleep or watching TV. I can control the temperature settings with the remote too. SImply awesome! I opted for this unit and paid more than some of the cheaper brands but I am so glad I did. The quality of the wood/mantle/etc is exceptional. It is a very nice piece of furniture and worth every penny. The heat box sits up off the floor so there is no concern about anything touching it. There was no odor from the heating elements and it does a good job at keeping our large 20-12 ft bedroom a comfortable 71 degrees. The only regret I have is not purchasing this years ago! I like almost everything. I don’t like that you can’t turn the remote beep off. Everytime you turn it on, change anything it’s a very loud beep. It is annoying for anyone sleeping near by. It will wake you. Other than that, the heat is more than sufficient. The fan is a bit loud for today’s options, I would rate this a 5 except the loud beep on the remote. Would I buy this again? Yes, assembly was beyond easy, it took about 1 hour that’s taking out of box. Taking all pieces out and laying them out. The construction is solid considering it’s do it yourself, Adding the insert after assembly of mantle was no problem. You do need to screw in two screws in the back that do not have predrilled to hold the firebox in place. I do love the look of this. Yes, there are much better fire boxes out there with more options but for the price this is a beautiful piece. See below pics ... show more

Sometimes you can get a feeling about a purchase when you open the box. This was the case with this one. It was packaged beautifully, so much so that I wondered if the person that designs it spent a childhood doing puzzles. The instructions were excellent as each piece was clearly marked and had an arrow showing the correct position. I was concerned about the fit and finish based on other customer reviews. I have a tip for them. The bolts are much smaller than the holes in the brackets. After the assembly is complete, go back and loosen those that you need to in order to adjust the side sections to the front. You will be able to get it perfect. Is this a good buy? That depends on your point of reference. I just paid to have kitchen cabinets made. Each one cost well over $1,000. In comparison to that, this is a gift. I also bought s South Shore headboard. In comparison to that, this would only be fairly priced. In no case can I imagine it being considered overpriced. I have owned 4 houses. In each of the first 3 I had a fireplace that I never used. In my current home I left it out. When I went to Houzz to decorate, I realized that just about every living room had a fireplace that they worked around. I decided that I needed one for that reason. This one is easily as nice to look at as 2 of the previous 3. The one in Greenwich Ct. was just a lot bigger and nicer. I am a very happy camper. The only problem was that one of the screens was bent. I spoke to a very friendly and easy to reach customer service rep who assured me a speedy replacement. This fireplace is worth every nickel I paid for it which, to me, is a good value. The assembly instructions were top notch and the unit itself is solid and gorgeous. Nice pine instead of pressed wood chips.

    • Love the look, was hoping for a more realistic feel though.
As far as fake fireplaces go, this one is great! Even though it requires assembly (recommend two people!) the finished product has clean lines and is quite sturdy. The logs/flames are a bit cartoon-ish in terms of the look/intesity, but I love that you can adjust their brightness (five settings!) and if you put it on three or lower the look of them becomes more subtle. And I also love that you can adjust the temperature of the blower and that there's a shut-off timer. The reason I wouldn't give this product 5 stars is due to the placement of the blower; the heat comes out at the top of the flame box portion and I would've preferred it to come out lower. Sitting next to the fireplace you don't feel any of the warmth you would from a real one b/c it's all blowing out/up. ... show more

I can not say enough good things about this fireplace! I did a ton of research prior to purchasing and this is by far the best deal out there. As electric fireplaces go the flames are realistic and the slim profile makes it easy to disguise as built in. We plan to mount our tv on the wall however it works just fine as a tv stand. It was super easy to build with very straight forward directions. I was able to complete by myself in under an hour. ... show more

For an electric fireplace the flame looks very realistic, the unit is beautiful and very well built. That being said, i did have a problem with a damaged part, and while not as prompt as i would like, this was resolved to my complete satisfaction.. i love this fireplace and am very happy i got it.

We are very happy with our fireplace, easy to put together and just the right size. It is sturdy enough, but it’s a good idea to reinforce it into the wall, should any children or fur babies knock it about.
