I need a basic, inexpensive knife roll for cooking at other people's houses. I don't need lots of compartments for organizing a whole commercial cook's kit. Just room for a couple of knives and some basic tools that I can't live without. This bag is a pretty good solution. The Good: It's about as simple as it could be. The waxed canvas looks great. Complaints about its stiffness are exaggerated. The less good: the pockets are all very narrow. Some tools are a tight fit. My other knife roll has room for my thermocouple probe thermometer in a knife pocket. Can't do it here (but there's a zippered compartment, which is ok).

Still works ok, but seams are starting to cone undone. I should be able to fix. If you buy this, reinforce the stitches and plan on replacing the buckle.
