The drain stopper in my large jet tub was one that you pushed one side down to close, and the other side down to open. It had always been a little tricky to get it to catch when pushing it to close. Last week, it came out completely, and despite my efforts, getting it reseated properly each time was very difficult. When I ordered this new drain stopper, it was so inexpensive that I figured there was a good chance it would not work. Boy, was that assumption wrong! I had already cleaned everything possible after the old one came out, and the installation of the new one could not have been easier. It literally took less than a minute. The open and close function is a huge improvement over my old one as you only push down in the center of this one for either action. No finagling to get the stopper to catch like my old one! After it was installed, I closed the drain, covered the bottom of the tub with water, and left the room. I still thought I might return to find that some or all of the water had leaked out. When I returned to check an hour later, I was ecstatic to find no leakage. The stopper had held firm. I pressed the top to open the drain and the water drained more quickly than when my old stopper (which had a longer core) was in place—another plus for the replacement! I am beyond elated that I was able to correct my issue for under $15, and that the piece looks and functions even better than the original bathtub drain! (I’ve included a pic of the installed drain, simple one-page instructions which shows removal and installation steps of the piece on multiple types of drains, and the two different rubber washers which are included).

Had been contemplating replacing a rusted 20+ year old bathtub drain with broken crossmembers and hence, a stopper that no longer functioned as designed. I happened upon this as I was searching for a replacement drain and decided to give it a try. It looks great as it covers up the old drain, and functions well. Saved me buying the drain, plumbers putty, specialty tool, and probably a lot of grief. Highly recommend.

Replaced the original push/push type plug, dating to 2005. Its rubber seal had failed and the rubber did not seal the drain. This inexpensive kit has a different design, with an O-ring sealing it to the drain channel and an internal water path. It works fine.

I've been using this for about a month so far and it's been really great. It holds water super well and doesn't leak at all. It was really easy to install and can be pulled out easily if need be either for cleaning or whatever else. My only qualm is that it sits just a tiny bit above the bottom of the actual tub, so a little bit of water tends to sit right at the edge of the drain but it's really not an issue.

This is sooooo cool! Installation was very easy and the quality of this stopper is better than the original name brand drain we had (that to be fair only broke after 20 years of service). The instructions say you should clean up the existing drain. Given the age of our tub it seemed that a brillo type pad (on the inside of the drain tube) did the best job. Used a Magic Eraser to clean up the exposed chrome bits. The worst thing about this was it looked so nice and new I really had to scrub out the tub to level up! Would highly recommend if you have a similar repair before you or just want an upgrade.

Fits right on top of the drain mechanism that’s already there, I just had to take out the top piece that wouldn’t stay in place any longer. To drain the old one, I would have to hold it until all the water was out and that got tiresome. This shade of gold matches my gold set that’s already there. It drains the water very quick. Seems it would be easy to clean, so that’s always a plus!! Super easy to remove, just pick it up or untwist the middle piece to clean any hair that it catches. Though it doesn’t seem like it catches too much of a mess, if that helps!! Doesn’t feel like cheap material either!! Not plastic!! I’d highly recommend this, I love the gold color!!

The media could not be loaded. I finally can take a soak in my tub because of this little gadget . It’s been about a month & it’s working great . I recently had a new tub out in and it came with the toe stopper that one side was CLOSE & the other side was to OPEN - well it never worked worth a damn ! I could never get it to close up on the first try . Once struggled thirty minutes to get the piece of crap to shut & I never could get it to work . Ordered this & simply popped it in after removing the original worthless plug . Works perfectly , it’s just press of my toe to shut or open up . Simple . Easy . Effective .
