It helps to wet the bottom of the tub prior to putting the mat down. This allows the suction cups to grab better. You have to push down on most of the suction cups to get it to stick. If the tub is dry, they will not stick. Then fill the tub with water. Perfect whimsical bath mat for our young grandchildren.. I wish it were a bit more cushiony. But it does the job of keeping the kiddos from slipping around. It is a great length!

Doesn’t adhere to small tiles in a shower. I owned one of these a few years ago, and it worked great in my solid surface shower. The suction cups can’t grip over grout. The rest of it works great.
