I had my eye on this rug for about a year. I finally purchased it for my baby's nursery and it's so perfect. It makes the room look lovely. The rug doesn't look cheap. I was worried about vacuuming, but our Shark vacuum goes over it just fine. I did price comparing after seeing this rug listed by a few different retailers and Amazon has had the best price on it by far every time. The ends curled up after it was first unrolled, but it laid flat on its own within a week. It's thick and comfy and perfect for floor play time. It makes the room look more high end! ... show more

I'm all about getting the best fit for me and best product quality for the lowest price. I didn't hours reading reviews and sifting through Amazon and this is what I ended up with. So SO happy with the purchase!!! Keep in mind, this is not a show piece, fancy Nancy type of rug. This was a $112, 5x7, inexpensive, thick shag area rug and I'm reviewing it accordingly. If I had paid $200+ for this rug I'd be sad but that's not the case here. My pictures show what the rug looked like as soon as I took it out of the bag, rolled it open, and did a quick vacuum of the pile. It laid down nearly flat right off the bat, and by the next morning sat all the way flat. I put a box on each corner overnight, and it was good to go. The pile is thick, and the rug backing doesn't seem to slide around at all which is great because it's in the new nursery. I hate non slip rug mats so I'm glad I won't be needing one. I was able to easily vacuum the rug with a small cordless Dyson, and I would feel comfortable saying that any average modern vacuum would be able to easily vacuum this shag length. I chose the beige and ivory colors and textured pattern to hide regular amounts of dirt and wear, and I think I made the right choice with that. The shag threads aren't "new baby kitten" soft and fluffy by any means, but it IS a soft and fluffy rug with a thick enough pile that my feet won't hate me for rocking a baby back and forth all night pacing the room. No weird "fresh out the bag" smell just smelled like a FedEx truck or warehouse to me. It was really well packaged and wrapped, and very clean. Been unrolled for a day and I can't smell anything now which should say a lot because I'm 7 months pregnant and don't like smelly things. One thing that they should mention in the ad is that the ivory and beige shag threads are ever so slightly a different length from each other (which is wonderful to me but maybe not everyone?). This just gives it a bit more texture. People who are rating this as being a bad quality rug must have been expecting $500 quality out of a $100 rug. ... show more

I got the 7x10 rug and it was the perfect size for my living room! I love the color and design of this rug. It is a bit more shaggy than soft. It also had a chemical smell when it first arrived so you definitely need to air it out for a couple of days. It also had a weird residue feel to it when I walked on it with my bare feet, so I do need to find a good way to clean it. It does lay pretty flat but I've noticed the corners do lift a bit. The bottom material is slip resistant so I haven't had any problems with it moving around. ... show more

The durability on this runner is great. We use it walking into main entrance where there is a lot of foot traffic. It is thick "shag" material so if using towards a door you might need to check the clearance. If your door is hung low, it might not drag across this mat. Although its like shag material, there are not issues with the vacuum. The corners curled at the beginning but we set a weight on them for a few days and now they stay down. The media could not be loaded. It arrived rolled up and sealed in very thick, clear plastic. It almost immediately laid flat, I just had to roll one end the opposite way it had been rolled during shipping. It had a slight scent, so I filled a bucket with warm water, added laundry detergent, then dumped it on the rug and washed the rug, literally by hand. We rinsed it out with the garden hose, then hung it to air dry. Which made it even fluffier! The backing is flat and hard, there's no cushion. You'll need to buy padding for that. It is such a gorgeous rug. Nicely made, heavy duty, grips pretty good without a no slip mat under it. I purchased two for our camper, the 4'3" x 5'7" and this one, which is 2'7"x5'. It is very nice new, but doesn't look good for long. It retains dirt, can only be spot cleaned, and regardless of how much vacuuming, doesn't pop back up and look full. I don't recommend it, especially if you have pets.
