The rug comes with a super strong chemical smell, smell like seafood market, i put it on the balcony over a day, and it still smell the same, don’t buy or buy if you ok with the sea food market smell

We purchased this rug for our great room. It arrived rolled up pretty tightly and after rolling it out, it took a few days (and vacuuming) to get the wrinkles out. Also, after a few days, we decided that it was a bit thin, so we invested in a carpet pad to go under it. Even with the purchase of the pad, the overall investment was less than many other rugs we had found both online and in local stores. After opening, It was really smelling like something chemical and with many wrinkles. It is definitely thinner than I expected but looks good. I vacuumed it and was surprised (worried at the same time) of how much small particles come off it. The vacuum bin was empty before! That does not looks safe. After one week the smell has come out, but the wrinkles never laid flat beside all my efforts to stretch it out. I am returning it!! ... show more
