  • Smells bad must be connect to PC

Good First Laser Engraver – Some Learning Curve This is my first laser engraver, and overall I’m happy with it. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve, but it wasn’t too difficult to get started. The instructions are decent, though they could be clearer in a few places. I was able to follow the setup steps for the free downloadable software without much trouble. However, I did have to search online to figure out how to actually start the engraving process once everything was set up—the instructions seemed to skip that final step. After getting things running, I was able to engrave several items successfully. So far, I’ve found that simple outline-style drawings work best. I engraved a fake leather phone case and the sample piece of wood that came with the machine, and both turned out very well. One important thing to note is that the engraver must be connected to your computer to operate. Also be aware that engraving certain materials can produce strong or unpleasant smells. Since the machine works by burning the design into the material, it’s important to research what materials are safe to engrave. For example, some plastics like PVC can release toxic fumes when burned, so always check before using new materials. Overall, it’s a good starter engraver once you get past the initial setup. ... show more

  • perfect gateway laser for small projects.
Size: T1-3W
If you’re just testing the waters with laser engraving, this little T1 is a great place to start. It’s obviously not a high-powered industrial machine, but for 3W, it handles leather, wood, and dark acrylic surprisingly well. The foldable design is actually a huge plus—I can tuck it away when I’m not using it, which is great for a smaller desk. It’s definitely more of a hobbyist tool, but the precision is solid for the price. The only downside is that is does not work well with regular metal, you will need to get anodised metal to make them work nice, same with glass. YMMV. ... show more

  • Seems to work well
Size: T1-7W
I bought this laser to replace my woodworking branding iron, I was looking for a more consistent result versus the branding iron where I needed to heat it up with a torch and hope to get a quality result each time. This laser seems to fit my needs. It's not big, and it may not be the most powerful, but for my uses it seems to work well. Time will tell how long it will last. If it does well in the long run, I would consider buying another if my first one were to break. If my experience changes, I'll be sure to update my review at a later time. I've used this with Lightburn and it works well with Lightburn's software. ... show more

  • Some testing Artilume T1
Size: T1-3W
Material Testing is Mandatory: The included manual has a basic material settings table, but it's a starting point. I created a "test grid" on scrap wood and leather. I engraved small squares using different speed/power combinations and labeled them. This reference sheet is now taped to my workspace. Focus is Everything. You loosen a thumbscrew, use the provided metal gauge to set the correct distance between the laser lens and the material surface, and re-tighten. Being off by even 1mm results in a blurry, weak engrave. I learned to check focus whenever I changed material thickness. ... show more

  • Great Compact Laser for Beginners!
Size: T1-3W
These T1 Laser Engraver by ARTILUME is not bad for a 3w laser engraver. Comes in a branded box which I always feel is a bonus in case you want to send to someone as a gift…presentation says so much. Packaged very well with extra soft styrofoam to ensure nothing is broken or shook during transit. They include everything you need to get started right out of the box, all hardware, USB cord, system is compatible with MAC or PC using the software that needs to be downloaded before you can use. I had no issues downloading into my PC using the latest version of Windows. I didn’t want to put this one on my MAC as I’m planning on getting a new MAC Book soon so I’ll do that at that time to try the Lightburn. Included are some sample materials & instruction booklet to get you started as well. ARTILUME really made sure that you could use this immediately which is awesome especially if you have no prior experience with lasers! I do a lot of tumblers, ornaments, wood projects & have even added hats to my shop in the past year so to now have the ability to engrave them or engrave embellishments like leather patches, add names or photos on ornaments or dates is incredible. These laser is slow but that’s because it’s a diode and not a C02 one. Depending on how intricate & the material you are using will also depend on how long it will take to complete. Due to small, compact size of this, I strongly suggest having this on a level surface as it will shake some. You need to keep it steady to have your laser focus properly & avoid issues. The folding feature is amazing, this allows for portability especially if you do outdoor vendor events. I wouldn’t suggest taking this to an indoor location as the fumes from engraving might be too much for some people. Proper ventilation is key. Recognizes simple jpg, SVG & dxtl files with ease. Had no problems reading downloaded files I owned or new ones I purchased. Software takes some getting used to if you are not familiar with it but that’s like any other software. For the cost of $99 (at time of posting this, 01/11/26) they make this so affordable for just about anyone to dip into the world of laser engraving to at least find out if it’s something you want to pursue before dropping thousands on a better one! Highly recommend, for me it’s a no brainer! Worth every penny. Even when I get my C03 laser I will keep this in rotation for my smaller designs as its accuracy is fine & functions as intended. Thank you. ... show more
