  • My review, Based on personal customization and workflow in my home workshop,
Color: BLACK Size: 7w
I operated a full‑function fabrication print shop using high‑quality machines such as the two enclosed Creality Falcon Pro 22W lasers and an additional enclosed 55W laser. I also operate two UniFormation GK3 resin printers and two Kobra S1 Max filament units, so compared to the tools I currently work with, you may ask yourself why I would want this 7W engraver, which is a very modest machine and cannot compare in power, capability, or workflow functionality to my larger and more technically advanced equipment. This is true; However, this unit does have a place in my shop. I dedicated the ARTILUME A4 Laser Engraver to my free monthly classes where I teach local pre‑teen age students the mechanics of additive machinery. This unit is lightweight and easy to operate, I allow the kids to participate in the setup steps (with me standing right beside them). The assembly and calibration for this ARTILUME A4 Laser took about 30 minutes. Once set up correctly, it does handled fine text and delicate patterns very well. The speed on this engraver is faster than many entry‑level machines makes it excellent for small DIY detailed craft work. The air assist makes a noticeable difference on wood, so I recommend keeping it on for cleaner cuts and reduced charring. It is a perfect unit for those learning the basics and light craft makers. Each kid create their own designs such as; name tags, keychains, small wooden ornaments, whatever they chose to draw up then they upload the design to the connecting laptop, put the settings in. There is something exciting about watching a laser engrave your creation right before your eyes, that my pre‑teen age group loves. Having this unit in our shop’s creative class has indeed enhanced their hands‑on and educational. I enjoy using this laser as a teaching tool with my group because I can offer each student hands on laser engraving tutorial of their creations. Although this 7W machine is the perfect size and strength for at‑home hobbies; As for teaching basic engraving, letting kids bring their ideas to life, or for a home craft maker It preforms well. -However, buyers should keep a realistic mindset of what a 7W laser can and cannot do well. At this wattage this unit will not perform the large‑scale or high‑power work my industrial machines can. PLEASE CONTINUE TO READ THE INFORMATION BELOW: Keep in mind this unit is not a toy; and it does require proper structure, ventilation, and safety measures in mind. Before purchasing, buyers should understand how and where they plan to use this machine. • The ARTILUME A4 product page does not include or discuss the use of a honeycomb bed. Why you need it: Without a honeycomb bed, there is no containment or absorption of fumes, and charring residue can affect ambient air quality. Many buyers consider honeycomb beds “optional,” but depending on your workspace, they are an important safety feature. Recommendation: (Most brand 400 x 400 honeycomb beds will work sufficiently) • The ARTILUME A4 is an open‑frame laser; however, the page does not specify exact exhaust duct dimensions or CFM requirements. Why you should question this: Without an enclosed cutting bed, fumes, smoke, and laser byproducts escape directly into the surrounding air. • A Honeycomb Bed is In addition to an enclosure, because this is an open‑bed machine, proper fume extraction is essential. • This is NOT Suitable for Closed Rooms or Indoor craft area without a Dedicated Fume Extraction or Proper HVAC Integration. If you are using this tool indoors I HIGHLY recommend setting up direct exhaust venting — ductwork system to pull fumes away — When in open workspace such as a garage, shed, Best to keep your setuo near your open doors so your workspace is extremely well‑ventilated. As a professional 3D active operator, I understand I door ventilation setups well. As I use my 3D printers and laser engravers indoors in my home‑based fabrication studio. I designed our custom ventilation using inline carbon filters and blast gates, which I use for my 16K resin and laser production in my home workshop; ✓ I recommend starting with 4‑inch flexible aluminum or rigid ductwork. Airflow should be at least 400–600 CFM for effective fume extraction without back‑pressure. If using carbon filters or long duct runs, a high static‑pressure mixed‑flow or centrifugal fan is advised. If attaching more than one machine, setting up an inline ductwork system with blast gates is recommended. For light‑duty supplemental use, you can use something similar to the AC Infinity Cloudline T4 (4", 205 CFM) as it is a reasonable option. As for an enclosed setup — ARTILUME does not currently manufacture or sell a proprietary enclosure for the A4. The product page and their official site show no matching safety cabinet. *Do you need this? That depends on how and where you plan to use this machinery. *Do universal third‑party enclosures help? Yes — but with important caveats: ✓ What a proper enclosure DOES: • Blocks 450 nm laser radiation — OD3+ acrylic panels block 99.8% of blue diode light, eliminating the need to wear safety glasses while operating • Contains fumes partially — acrylic or polycarbonate walls redirect smoke toward your exhaust duct (still requires active ventilation; enclosure alone does NOT filter) • Adds safety interlock — door‑open sensors auto‑pause the laser ✓ With an OD3+ enclosure: No, you don’t need safety glasses — the panels block 450 nm completely. *What a proper enclosure DOES NOT Do: • Does NOT eliminate fume extraction needs — you still need your 4–6" ductwork and exhaust fan; the enclosure just channels fumes toward the duct • Does NOT filter or purify air — it contains smoke, but harmful particles still exit through your exhaust system •Without an enclosure: You must wear OD7+ certified 450 nm eyewear. Search for recommended enclosure for A4 (400 x 400 mm work area). ✓ Another important safety gap is that the ARTILUME A4 product page does not specify required safety glasses or optical density (OD) ratings, despite the 450 nm blue diode laser being a direct eye hazard. For safe operation on an open framework like the ARTILUME A4, you need laser safety glasses rated OD 7+ at 450 nm to protect against diffuse reflections and backscattered light. *Note: Standard shop glasses or regular eyewear provide zero protection. Look for CE‑marked EN207/208 certified eyewear with OD 7+ at 190–540 nm and a visible light transmission of at least 35–50% for safe workshop use. *The information I provided on my DYI venting system is not universal. It is based on my personal customization and workflow in my own home workshop, ( your setup requirements may differ depending on your space and ventilation system) I shared my system setup only as general tips that may or may not apply to your specific laser engraving setup. For any official questions or setup guidance, I highly recommend that buyers or owners contact ARTILUME’s technical support to confirm their exact exhaust outlet size and recommended CFM for the ARTILUME A4 Laser Engraver to ensure proper integration with their ventilation system. I hope you found my review helpful 🤗 ... show more

  • Capable Entry-Level Laser With a Learning Curve
Color: BLACK Size: 7w
I was impressed by how much work area this engraver offers for a relatively compact machine. The frame felt stable, engraving accuracy was good once everything was calibrated, and being able to use both the mobile app and LightBurn gave me flexibility depending on the project. It handled wood and leather particularly well in my testing. The biggest drawback was the setup and calibration process. Getting the correct focus, dialing in power settings, and learning material-specific settings took more experimentation than I expected. It's a capable machine, but I wouldn't describe it as beginner-friendly despite the app-based controls. ... show more

  • Very impressed
Color: BLACK Size: 7w
TL:DR - impressive power for a 7w laser, great for wood and easy to use. Worked on mild steel but would still struggle with stainless. I work consistently with metal as a blacksmith... I saw this and got excited to start etching my work since I saw this could work with stainless steel. To start, this was extremely well packaged and protected. I then opened the instructions and it was some of the best instructions I've seen in a long time. Each step had all the hardware in its own labled zip lock so there was no guessing game, and it came with all the tools needed. I then got to using the app, which is a bit clunky, but it worked for creating what I tested the system with so it isnt too bad. Biggest downside is it has direct wifi connect and you cant access the internet while using the device. You also have to remain connected the entire time it is operating. The PC/MAC programs work great, again you need to remain plugged in during operations though. Now to the etching... color me completely impressed for a 7W laser engraver. A 500/500cm design on a soft wood only took about 6 minutes. I did a second pass just because there was a bit of a faded look to a few letters, I probably should have turned down the power because it actually wound up cutting through in a few of the darker spots. I then tried this on some mild steel. The instructions say it works on stainless (I didnt have any stainless sheets) so I figured why not try mild. I did 2 passes at 90% power at 150mm/min pace (the recommended settings for stainless). I created a 20mm/22mm in 15min. My second picture shows the difference before and after washing it with acetone. I wanted to be sure it etched and didnt just cause some surface burns on the metal. This works good on mild, but it would likely take significantly more passes to work on something as hard as stainless. Still, as long as you understand what to expect, this is an excellent system for a 7W laser engraver. ... show more

  • Ideal hobby laser, easy to set up and use
Color: BLACK Size: 7w
Wanted to try laser engraving as a hobby without breaking the bank. The 7W hits the sweet spot — powerful enough to engrave hardwood (did a beautiful mandala pattern on a walnut serving board) but not so powerful that I'm scared of ruining materials. LightBurn compatibility was a big plus since I already knew the software basics from YouTube tutorials. Assembly took about 20 minutes, calibration another 10. First project was a family name sign for our entryway — turned out so well my neighbors now want one too. Air assist makes a noticeable difference on wood, definitely keep it on. ... show more
