This is perfect for what I needed to paint 1:350 scale models that need fine detail. A card and brochure are in the box that are black and not easily seen—especially if one is not looking for them. The brochure has a link to an eBook for cleaning and maintaining the brushes. But I was not aware of the brochure, so I did not know they were there and did not look for them. A lot of items I purchase—in store or online—do not have instructions when the use is obvious, like paint brushes. So I did not look for the brochure. I saw no brochure when I looked initially. But because there was no brochure in the Amazon box the brushes came in, I took a closer look. Even then, I saw only the card at first, then I saw the brochure. The black color and being formed to the side of the box made it difficult to see. I received an e-mail about the eBook. That was when I looked for the brochure and was able to download the eBook. The brushes were great, but if you buy them, look for the brochure to download the eBook. ... show more

I had been buying the "art" brushes from the local Ben Franklin craft store. It's the only art store we have since Hobby lobby closed. I had been buying from Amazon a lot during COVID anyway the last two years, and decided my results needed a better brush. What a difference these make! I can get similar results but with a lot more effort and continually re-trimming the cheap art store brushes. They also stain and don't clean well. These also hold their shape really nicely with careful cleaning and shaping. Long term wear will have to await time, as I've only been using them about two weeks. But I'm already a fan. The pic is an undead "Necro-dragon", with blacklight fluorescent highlights. ... show more

    • The pros and cons
Pros: I loved the grip and the brushes worked for what I needed them for. Since purchasing, I've used these brushes for acrylic and watercolor paint and was pleased with the results. Cons: When using watercolor, I noticed the brushes don't retain much moisture so I had to dip frequently. However, it wasn't enough to stop me from getting the desired result. A huge con, and the main reason for the 4 stars was the handles. Although the grip is good, the handles are loose and unstable in about 1/3 of the brushes. I anticipate that they'll probably break. The only reason I didn't give 3 stars for this was because I've had experience with this before to know that a little wood glue makes them as good as new. ... show more
