Hypergo got me into nostalgia build Tamiya. That got me looking into the world of brushless. I settled on the Granite BLX 3s 4x4. 2s was a blast! 3s was insane. Fast enough to feel like it was almost out of control. I added Typhon control arms and turn buckles all around for a wider, more stable stance and it didn't disappoint. This is my first real RC truck. I was a little apprehensive about going straight to a fast brushless truck. But reviews I read said that the brushless trucks are going to have tougher parts on them to handle the speed. I have been running 2s Lipos in it and it is plenty fast. I started on 50 percent throttle and that lasted about 5 seconds till I switched in to 100 percent. The truck is very stable and controllable. I've been using it in my smaller front yard, but I'm sure when the snow melts, I can run 3s batteries in the back yard with no problem. It seems pretty solid, but it is not meant to crash into things at speed. I tumbled it pretty good though and it seems unfazed. UPDATE: This thing is a beast. I've driven this thing very hard. I've landed wheels up, done more cartwheels than I can count, and other than the body getting beat up a bit, it hasn't broken a thing. Except for catching a tire on a pole at full speed, and busting an arm, a shock, and steering linkage, but the parts were readily available and nothing expensive broke. I had it going in a couple of days. I would get the wide arms kit; it makes the truck way more stable. ... show more

If you had the gift of foresight, the Arrma Granite is exactly what you would wish for when beginning in the hobby. It looks great, it's fast, it's durable and parts are readily available for it when you want to upgrade it. The size is excellent, as it's big enough to bash and get through anything, yet not so large that it's cumbersome to transport and carry. I recommend this 100% and 10 out of 10 times!     • Fast, fun, durable, and a good value

This was my first Arrma RC and I am happy with it. It is fast and fun to drive. The short wheelbase makes the vehicle very lively and easy to correct in the air. It is easy to do wheelies and backflips on 3S. It is also fun to drive on 2S, but not as easy to flip. The durability has been great. I’ve had some back wrecks with it and haven’t broke any parts yet. The body is getting pretty thrashed, but it is still holding together. One weak spot is that vehicle comes with plastic pivot balls and I highly recommend upgrading them to metal. I wore out the plastic ones after about 10 battery packs and the front end/steering became very loose. You can get a metal pivot ball kit for around $15 and it makes the vehicle much tighter and tougher. I would do this upgrade right out of the box. Other than that, I think this vehicle is a great value and is a tough basher. ... show more

It's a great entry car, I really like it. It's super powerful and it can easily go on the roli on a 3s battery. I use the spectrum 3s 100c and it runs great. I also have the 2s 50c and it's also great but way less power, go for 3s. It's only issue but not a real n issue is that it flips so easy. It can do backflips in its sleep but if you run straight with full power and decide to do anything besides straight or stop it will flip in a sec. As a result it's back part of the cover breaks because it has no protection. So it depends on your style of driving. If off road, ramps dirt and jumps is your style then this is your car but if its more grass and street it won't work well. Other than that it's a solid beast and fun to play with. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For the money the Arrma Granite 4x4 3s blx will beat almost any rc car out there. Will the granite break? Yes, of course it will, just like any rc car. The thing is it performs incredibly well and Arrma has one of the best warranties around. I’ve replaced a lot of parts on the granite (I’ve actually rebuilt it from the ground up), but it’s been fun learning. If you are looking for a starter truck that can perform like the big boys this is the one. I own three cars all considerably more money than the granite. It holds its own when it comes to speed and jumping. It will backflip for days. Highly recommend for newbies or for anyone wanting another car. Keep in mind, it will break, you just need to accept that fixing them is part of the fun. By the way. This is not a cheap hobby so think twice before throwing out the money for something you don’t want to invest time in. Check out the sick backflip in the vid. ... show more

This thing is not a toy......, it's a WEAPON!! Right out of the box this truck is ridiculously fast! Any throttle input more than 50% results in it standing up on its wheelie bars and screaming outta' sight. Be careful where you point it when you squeeze the trigger, you can do some serious damage not only to the truck itself, but to anything in its path. Seriously, you could literally kill someone with this if you hit them at speed. It weighs enough and goes fast enough to cause $1000's of dollars worth of damage to property or persons. I own both blx and boost versions of the Arrma Granite. Both are excellent for intended use. Boost for 3 and 6 yr old kids, blx for myself and 12 yr old. Love the ability to quicky reduce throttle to 50% via the remote. minor broken parts due to operator error. Easy to work on and replacement parts readily available Both are easy to handle and great for jumping. Blx on 3s is a handful, stick with 2s for the kids, still plenty of power Also own Traxxas Rustler and Redcat Volcano. Those rigs aren't nearly as durable and require many upgrades out of the box, especially the Rusty... Tires, steering blocks, servo ... show more
