We purchased the women’s and men’s fleece vests primarily for indoor use during cold weather months. Thus far we have used them for cool mornings and evenings when we are not particularly active (reading, watching TV, etc.). As it gets colder we might be wearing them all day long. The two vests are slightly different: The men’s vest has a master button that simultaneously turns on all 8 heating areas to the high setting (and turns them off) but the women’s vest does not have a master button. Both vests allow you to turn on the heating areas using individual buttons. The battery charger is different for the two vests. Otherwise, the two vests function exactly the same. I usually wear the vest with a snug fit over a long-sleeved shirt and then layer a fleece jacket over the vest. The snug fit helps me feel the heat more directly and the jacket helps keeps the heat in. The vest heats up very quickly on the high setting. If I am sitting with my back against a chair, I find it necessary to turn down the back heating areas fairly quickly. You can conserve a lot of battery power by paying attention to what areas of the vest are sufficiently warm and turning down the heat in those areas. We are really happy with the vests – they are comfortable, heat quickly, and have 8 well-placed heating areas. I especially like the customization panels which are very easy to install. I am 5-3 and weigh 110. The ladies vest fits me fine without the panels but if I wanted to wear more layers under the vest, the expansion pieces zip on easily. We have spare batteries in case the battery doesn’t last all day. This would be important if you are wearing it outdoors or in a cold environment for prolonged periods. ... show more

I purchased this for my husband who spends considerable time outside in winter. I was impressed at the packaging to start, the photos don’t do justice but nice presentation Arris. Great instructions and the battery charging was wasy. It came with about 60% charge and it took about an hour to get to 100%. Love the panels that are sent with the vest because it allows a “custom” fit. My husband loves it! Each zone has 5 levels of heating from high to low and he tried all the levels then said he’ll probably never use high because he got really warm really fast! He says the weight wasn’t bad considering battery and all and a nice surprise was the usb hook-up in the right pocket allowing you to charge your cell phone if needed. This vest is great. 3 heating zones and 5 levels of heat make it good for very cold outdoor use to use in a cold office in. The winter. The side panels that allow you to adjust the size are genius. Got one for my guy and he absolutely loves it. He likes it better that it is a vest. The additional side panels are genius and can be mixed and matched to fit almost any size. The battery lasts exactly as described so my guy went ahead and got a bigger 20,000mah battery for it that lasts him days. He loved it so much he bought me one. I like the fit but I have used it for warmth yet because I already run way hotter than he does. I think I wouldn't mind sleeves with warming pads in them also though as its my arms that get cooler than my body. This heated vest was purchased for my husband. He's 5'9, 165 lbs and added one of the included zip-in side panels. It fits him very well. He's pleased with the ability to choose the heating zones and regulate the amount of heat in each. We've ordered a second battery.
