  • It's back... FINALLY
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X|Xbox One
Long time fan of the series since that demo disc of the original on PSX and somehow FromSoft not only stays true to what made the series epic, refines it to modern standards but also just doesn't F it up like so many franchises. This game isn't for everyone and that is part of its charm. Sure it's the ace combat of glorious mech action that has been missing from the genre for generations of consoles, but it makes you work for it, learn and be creative and lokks great doing so. You have to learn the parts, builds, the enemies, how you move in the world and then how to adapt to what gets thrown at you. Once you do, it's a fun rollercoaster of a ride. Not a long game but fun to replay on NG+ a few times unlocking better gear and alternate missions/endings. For better or worse, it is ultimately a simple game. Not open world, no engrossing story to follow for hours on end, no slogging through boring parts of the game picking herbs or cooking etc. Build your mech and go blast through some missions or PVP. All of which makes it great even if you work a lot or otherwise have limited time to game. Easy to pick up and play for hours "one more mission" or just jump in for a quick escape from the grind, see some beautiful robot action and move on in the time it takes to watch an episode of something. ... show more

  • Feels like a FromSoft game with a more straight forward story - all in a good way
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X|Xbox One
It can be fast paced and unforgiving in some places. But its a FromSoft game, so this should be expected. Like their Souls/Borne games, this one rewards input precision and absolutely punishes mashed inputs. The game tends to "forget" inputs in some circumstances (not favorable to the player) while remembering inputs (again, not favorable to the player) in others when you're mashing buttons based on the rapid changing of circumstances in the game. Like their Souls types, there are definitely over-powered weapons that will 100% carry you through the game. You won't really need to make a ton of ACs even though the option is there if you care to experiment. If you're just trying to get through it, you will easily be able to stick to 1 fast, 1 tank without much concern. Later, when trying to get S ranks, the experimentation comes in handy, but even then, only a couple builds are necessary. Regardless, the customization options are amazing and there is the potential for countless hours of replay if you start experimenting with different weapon and AC builds. The story isn't as obtuse as their other games, but the presentation is just quick narration between sorties. There is more to be found in couple instances of "log" collection, but overall is moderately shallow when compared to their other games. I've enjoyed it thoroughly. ... show more

  • Robots and mayhem!
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X|Xbox One
This! This is what we needed! Death! Destruction! Damnation! The game has some slow moments but, when you fight a giant mining robot that's the size of a building and you take it down... You will know, you got the right game for you.

  • Right Game, Wrong Region
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X|Xbox One
So just got the game in the mail, which I'm excited for. But the second I opened it up, I noticed it's a copy from the UK, not the US. I know the Xbox is region-free, but I hope the gameplay, like multi-player or purchases don't affect the gameplay.

  • Armored Core at it’s finest.

Great story, combat, and mech building. You’ll have to beat the game a few times to unlock everything.

  • Solid
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X|Xbox One
that old school Armored Core in a brand new package so if you're new to the series, its a great starting point. most people who play this game won't beat it and you have to be ok with that lol. i got 10 missions in and absolutely can not beat the dude with all the missles. i have absolutely given up lol. game is fun online though so there's YEARS of replay value there. i wouldn't say its necessarily worth 60 bucks????? try to get it when its $39.99 or less. ... show more
